Villa And Silva Ready To Sacrifice Themselves For The Club
Valencia players David Villa and David Silva have confirmed they are willing to be transferred in order to ease the club's financial difficulties.
Spain star Villa is set to be one of the sought-after signings of the summer, with a host of clubs across Europe reportedly interested. Spanish newspaper Marca claimed earlier in May that Real Madrid would be prepared to pay Villa five million euros a season to join the Primera Liga champions, plus a transfer fee of 40 million euros which would double the price Valencia paid Zaragoza for Villa in 2005. Silva, meanwhile, is rumoured to be the target of a 20 million-euro offer from Internazionale. Valencia are said to be in financial turmoil following their early exit from the Champions League this season, and were helped little by the reported eight million euros they paid in compensation to Ronald Koeman when the Dutch coach was axed in April. It is believed the club is yet to find a kit sponsor next season and has failed in a bid to sell off their stadium, and move which was predicted to generate 90 million euros for the club this season. But both players have admitted that if a bid comes in that suits the club they would be ready to leave. "If the best thing for the club is to get some money and sell me then I'll accept that," Villa told Marca. "As players we're at the disposal of the club." However he warned any potential suitors: "I have a long contract, a big release clause and I signed it to fulfil it." Silva echoed his team-mates comments, saying: "I'm very happy at Valencia but in football you never know what might happen and I'm at the disposal of the club. "My future will be whatever is best for Valencia." Villa has scored 21 goals in a season to forget for Los Che this year, while Silva has found the net eight times. |

i've always leaned towards eto'o personally, but villa is interesting. i personally also think after last summer's foreign legion raid that this summer we'll stay british. richards, ashton, ramsey. |

![]() we'll buy the players we think can improve the squad regardless of nationality. i don't know where the Richards rumours are coming from, but i seriously doubt we are in for him, not for the prices quoted. nor for Ashton, for that matter. |

but think about it. there aren't going to be many departures. this is a back to back winning squad. It is also young. our best attribute next term is anything money can buy. As much as i would love to cart 40 million quid personally to lyon to sign benzema, even adding benzema wouldn't be the best addition to our squad. Experience and a summer of rest. that is going to be our biggest asset next year. Tevez is a magical player that hasn't shown his true greatness yet. Next season him and wazza will benefit from having had a year to bed in with each other. they'll also have had a good rest and will be fresh. nani and anderson will really start to come on and add consistency to their game. you can add anderson to tev and wzza as a playerwho needs some rest. yes he'll play in olympics, but next season, we'll see anderson play 90 mins more and more instead of the customary 60 mins. OH. i think hargreaves is going to have a top notch season next year. Yes the lad's blood is english, but his footballing education is anything but. This is a lad who has played much much slower paced football ALL his life. Canada, Germany, internationals. all slower paced than the premiership. OH will also have a summer of rest and get his knee in good shape. He'll come back like vidc/evra 2nd season and really perform. Ronnie, rio, carrick, vidic, brown, vds, evra will carry on in their immaculate form hopefully. it is't like we ere going to replace them with any signings. Scholes and Giggs will still be scholes and giggs. Maybe since next season will probably be giggs last, he'll find his 0607 form again and go out with a bang. that is a very likely possibility. saying all that, what we need is smart additions to bolster quality, youth, and maintain the chemistry in the team. richards, ashton, and ramsey allow us to do that IMO. lest we forget that just this year, barca tried to do their 'magic four' attak with etoo, dinho, henry, and messi. That turned out to be a disaster. we have tev, waz, and ronnie. lets not hastily add a 20-30 million striker and spoil the broth, shall we? |

Barca's players suffered from a lack of professionalism and a feeling of achievement. players skipping training, players going out late into the night, players preferring to perform commercial sponsorship activities instead of working; and Henry's own personal problems, loss of form after nearly a year our injured previously. we have young, hungry players, a motivated, experienced and astute manager who has a vision of what team he wants. these players are prepared to work for each other. |

The striker department is our weakest area, where competition for places is at its thinnest - lets not forget we went into this season with : Tevez, Rooney, Saha and Solkjaer. We now have Tevez, Rooney... Manucho for a 4th choice and its almost a nailed on certainty we'll resolve the Saha issue this summer. We'll be signing someone who can push Rooney and Tevez to play at their best, like Saha would have done at his best. Dean Ashton wont be managing that, partly because of fitness issues. One of Cockneyhammer and Hammermichael (I forget which one) wanted rid of Ashton earlier in the summer, such was his frustration at Ashon's fitness woes and performances just coming back from injury. |
