Who`s better at developing raw talent than Liverpool?

It'd be an interesting race.
Are you sure you've got that right? Zaha and Clyne both play for the same team.

He is an obvious talent, a very rough diamond that needs alot of work.

Yes he was troubling the full backs. Especially as has been said with his pace, it seemed he always had the beating of them once he had turned. It really did leave Cardiff with the only option to foul him.

But he was frustrating as hell to watch. At times it was like watching Nani when he first arrived, but with the volume turned way up. Even when he had the beating of the Cardiff fullback he did sod all with the space he'd earned. Poor crosses, a bad final ball and well his shooting, well it's poor.

When he cut inside, he seemed to run straight into trouble and gave possesion away cheaply. This coupled with not tracking back often enough, left the fullback Parr and Palace awfully exposed.

I hope the lad does well because he has all the tools to be a top player. I also hope he stays with Palace, he isn't going to get games with any of the clubs linked with him. He needs to be playing regular to get the experience, that will help him mature as a player and especially help him improve his decision making.

This guy is nothing special at all. He's fast and has one trick. Walcott was and is miles a ahead of him.

Of course. I thought of the right-back and automatically thought of Clyne. I don't know Cardiff's fullback's name.

I'm not sure how you've drawn this conclusion. His tracking back was excellent all game, he frequently got back to block balls coming in from Cardiff's right. He did lose possession often, but mostly because, as he was Palace's only creative outlet and Howard Webb was allowing it to go unchecked, Cardiff were kicking seven shades of shit out of him everytime he got the ball; for the most part he stood up to their kicks and battled through with the ball still at his feet, but by that time he was off balance and without many options - Palace were poor going forward but Zaha certainly wasn't the cause of that.

I think a comparison to Nani is fair.

Do we need another whippet with raw talent though? Saying that Zaha would fit the profile of a Fergie attacking transfer target these days, which is speed speed and more speed!

I've only seen him play one game so I couldn't suggest that he'd be a viable target for United. He looked fantastic to me in last night's semi, and wing is the one position that I usually have a good eye for. He's only nineteen years old which what really struck me; he's raw, but everything about him looked to me like he's destined for Premier League success - he's extremely fast, very strong with a wiry frame, his touch, turn and acceleration was always dangerous, he's determined and passionate, summing up Palace's cup semi final (until the shootout at least) with his individual heroics in place of effective teamwork, he's dogged too and, despite cj_sparky's observation, he certainly was not afraid to get back and put his boot in defensively. What I didn't get to see was his crossing and shooting ability, as Cardiff fouled him so much that he wasn't often able to get into a decent position to attempt either, plus he rarely got any decent support from Palace's other attacking players. His temperament was strong though and he kept his head and played on, always a threat to the end of the 120minutes wholly unmoved by the attentions of the home crowd and the Cardiff defence, both of which had targeted him illegitimately; he'd stick up for himself when Webb got decisions wrong, then just get his head down and continue his efforts to drive his team forward, efforts which may well have resulted in goals scored if the players around him were half as capable in attack as he was. I think most Premier League managers would appreciate those attributes in a player so young, he's certainly a prospect that shouldn't be ignored by any team, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the rumours of interest from the top half of the Prem are accurate.

Reminds me of Welbeck before he went out on loan. With his height and pace I reckon he would be better suited as a striker.

Redcafe might as well plan a five million quid bid for him as well seeing as we dont have the money either! It wouldnt be much of a big move for him even if they could scrape the money together.
