How can a win be a waste, the second half was not good, but Reading offered nothing, we did enough.

Yeah but our squad overall is not that great, based on this game.

It was a mishmash midfield and attack. I think he's still our best passer there.

So, so performance, but a win's a win.

Jones defended well and Lukaku looked strong up front. Midfield was a bit Meh.

Nice to see Chong, but he didn't do anything, really.

Yep. He was good today, but had to do too much on his own

Such a shame Javier Hernandez doesn’t still play for us: he and Chong would be a smoking combo...

See the bright side. Your second team played on a level Jose would have needed the first team for.

Lots of homegrown are way too overrated as well.

Not really no. For what we are paying him and how good he once was, this pales in comparison.

I know that's almost always the case, but we're winning the game. I don't get why people must be so miserable.

Not the win, but the opportunities presented to them. They were half on Dubai tour already mentally.

He's a bit slow, but good ball control and passing. He needs a few more games to adapt.

Does warm weather training prepare you for playing in the cold of London at Wembley??? Genuine question.

    Pleased with the result.
Performance could have been better, but I am not going to complain as we made it through to the next round.
    Thank you much Ole.

Does training in the rain in Manchester? If they can get treble the training time in and a bit of vitamin D along with a change of scenery what's not to like?

I'd say it's better for recovery and making them fresh again

So you're saying it's all on Ole as he's not sorted it out. Good on ya...

Just wanted you to say it out loud... "my boy had a poor game"

Anyways, hope perreria still gets chances and should be our cover for Pogba if he can show better performances

No I’m not saying that. I’m saying I expected the manager to change it at half time when it was obvious that we are being dominated by the championships bottom team.

Ok, let's still ask then. Can you see McTominay even scoring 3 in one season?
Let alone lasting here in any form for 6 years?

My boy had a poor game! Are you happy now?!?

I don't think he suits the 6 role I think he looks better as the 8 role closer to goal like Pogba.

I would concede that he is slightly more limited than Fellaini, however how he has lasted here for 6 yearsis symptomatic of how our standards have crashed.

Anyways it is onwards and upwards now and I suggest that we have seen Fellaini's swansong.

It was probably exactly what was expected when the team sheet was announced. Unfamiliarity in midfield made our play disjointed and we missed the pace that the first teamers bring to the final third. We're in the hat, clean sheet and some youngsters getting first team experience.
