    Oh, I see.

Well, he hasn't been out of the starting lineup for that long so he should be relatively sharp. Regardless I think he is a significant upgrade on Jones whether match fit or otherwise.

That was one of the worst examples of an ill disciplined team I have seen in a long time. How they ended with 11 players on the park I don't know, should have have 2 or 3 sent off. It was a team intent on causing injury to the opposition, Dier was particularly guilty IIRC.

Nothing wrong with dominating the opposition, or leaving a foot in - this was far worse, and not acceptable.

    Clattenburg happened.
The twat has already confessed that he fixed the whole game as he wanted Spurs to get an advantage and that is how he had the match in his mind.

I have always been shocked how the twat has not been banned permanently by the FA after such a confession. And the media who brushed the whole thing under the carpet.

I think he has a similar stance about diving. He mentioned it, in one of his press conferences about slight play acting to gain an advantage.

Put it the other way. Would you be happy with either Jones starting instead? Remembering his efforts v Tottenham and Kane last season.
    Terrific goal. Wrong net.

They will do anyway, if they're losing. They're one of the filthiest sides for ages, when losing.
Hopefully they do have a right old pile up against Chelsea, can only help us in both league and cup!

Team picks it's self at the moment

    De Gea

    Young
    Lindelof
Jones (I know, but we don't really have anyone better right now)
    Shaw

    Herrera
    Matic

    Lingard
    Pogba
    Martial

    Rashford

Lukaku is good to come off the bench if we are chasing the game and need a bit more presence in there, or if we're leading and one of our front 3 is tiring, get him on and he can give us a direct outlet.

I love seeing Lingard, Pogba, Martial and Rashford playing together when they are all on form. It's a joy to watch.

We simply have to play to our strength.
    Attack is the only option.

Can't see that Smalling is on the pictures or videos from the training sessions in Dubai, it's a little worrying. It would have been good to have him in shape for the match against Spurs. Someone who has seen or heard anything more about his staus?

This is the latest team news from the official website:

    https://www.manutd.com/en/news/deta...pdate-ahead-of-tottenham-hotspur-v-man-united

Chris Smalling is continuing his recovery from a sore foot, during this week's training sessions. Fellow defender Eric Bailly will have to miss the Spurs trip, as he completes a three-match ban for his recent red card against Bournemouth.

I mean a sore foot, really?

Thanks! Seems less likely that he would be in the starting line, maybe not even on the bench considering what Ole said about Darmian.

    Words marked! :D

I actually picked us to win 2-1 in the predictions, it's amazing how upbeat things have become in such a short space of time.

    No problem :)

Yeah, it's looking increasingly likely that we are going to be stuck with Jones (alongside Lindelof) which is terrifying considering the opposition.

Without Dembele in the middle for them I think they will struggle to contain our midfielders and Spurs generally don’t look great when they don’t have the control in the middle of the park.

We'll go flying out of the blocks i assume, just like we did at OT. Let's hope our players bring their finishing boots this time.

Everywhere is saying 'sore foot', but he's actually broken a bone in it. I have no idea how long it usually takes them to heal, but I'll be surprised if he starts as he either did it the day of the Liverpool game (Dec 16th) or shortly before. He'll have had barely four weeks to recover, but the bone must be healed enough if he is actually training already.

That sounds more likely given that he's been out for a month.

He started training last week by all accounts. Ole even said that there was a remote chance of him making the Reading game.

But if he isn't 100% fit then we really shouldn't be risking him.

Looks like Smalling only started training today so he won't be playing Sunday. We'll struggle without him.

Aside from their keeper, are spurs playing their strongest line up against Chelsea tonight?

Yep, Spurs are playing at full strength.

Which is surprising to be honest.

We need to cover well the space between the CB and FB when we're attacking. Newcastle exploit them well last time and I think Spurs would bank on this using Dele and Son to exploit them on counter. Other than that, I think we'll destroy them.

Spurs looked underwhelming tonight and fortunate to come away with a victory. Hopefully they play similar to this on Sunday because I cant see us being as passive as Chelsea have been tonight.

Strongest possible line-up, given injuries. But otherwise Vertonghen and Dier would playing.

We are going to have to defend well too or we could get a hiding. I don't see that happening though, I reckon we will tighten up a bit and it will not be a high scoring affair.
