The teams do go up the Wembley steps and winner lifts the shield. Can't remember if they get medals. Mourinho counts it as a trophy and that's good enough for me.;)

  2. FootballHQ replied to the thread Supercoppa Italiana | Juventus v AC Milan.

They've previously played this in Libya and New York in recent years. Makes fair bit of sense for me. Don't mess with the normal fixtures and give foreign viewers a reasonably competitive game between two star teams. Would anyone care if...

Higuain will poach a few goals but watching him at Milan and his conditioning dosen't look the best atm.

Marseille down to 9th. That is really poor with money they've invested over last 18 months.

Seems to be talk of James Rodriguez being offer to Arsenal for a 3m loan for rest of the season. What is it with Bayern and South Americans lately? All their fans were going mad about him a while ago and now he seemingly can't get in the...

  7. FootballHQ replied to the thread Arsenal 2018/19.

Arsenal were in same position as you, needed to win Europa to make CL due to league position being too low so everything was staked on that competition so comparison made sense to me.

Got a feeling Spurs will drop points at Fulham, they have to draw a game eventually and this feels the right time.

TBF I do it more comparing it between Arsenal and Man. United. I'm sure for a semi final Arsenal would've rather had Celta than a squad who'd made two CL finals in the last 3 years. Would Man. United have beaten Atletico over two legs, I doubt it.

Karanka been on verge of sack for a while, seems he just had enough of the speculation and quit before he was pushed. Quite unlucky in my view as he showed at Boro given time he can get promoted out of this league.

  11. FootballHQ replied to the thread Marouane Fellaini | 2018/19 Performances.

I'm amazed any United fan is looking at football you're playing last 4 weeks and thinking what is missing is Fellaini!! One of the con jobs Mourinho pulled was convincing many he was some sort of OGS wonder option off the bench. As others have...

  13. FootballHQ replied to the thread Marco Silva | Everton manager.

Problem with how strong top 6 is teams lose their motivation to just fight for 7th so you're getting all this inconsistant form from Everton, Leicester and West Ham, the three most likely to finish 7th. Of course it could get interesting again...

  14. FootballHQ replied to the thread Marco Silva | Everton manager.

Big problem for Everton is lack of mentality. You look at their core players and it's not a bad 11 they can put out. Coleman (o.k better before his broken leg but still one of better RBs in premier league and as good as some who sometimes play...
