40/1 Odds might be worth a flutter. Fellaini seems to think so.
Give money to charity or something.
I'll have a £10
Smart money is on Chelsea at 10/1.
I'll offer 41/1. Want my PayPal details?
We have a good run of games for the next 5/6 weeks.
If you think we can take advantage if it then back the 40/1 and lay it off when it shrinks after a (hopefully) good run of results
feck that, I'll offer 100/1. Minimum bet £1000.
Smart man would bet their life savings on Watford.
No one's taking that mate. You have to offer rope
Stranger things have happened. It would probably be the sweetest title win we’d ever have if we managed it.
You want to give a 100K to a third party for safekeeping?
Worth ten pound.
Why not? We got as much a chance as anybody else.
13/8 for top.4.
Poor start but still think we'll pick up and get top.4. >150% return in nine months for a "doable" bet.
I've stuck some money on at those odds spurs 14/1 and we're 40/1, yeah right
Ridiculous odds. We’ve lost two games but could easily turn it around. The fact that bookies seem to think Spurs are almost three times more likely and Chelsea are four times more likely than us to win the league is amusing.
I volunteer to be the third party. Accept bitcoin too.
Those odds are crazy. Definitely worth a punt.
Terrible odds based on what we've seen so far. 6 points is already a lot to make up on Liverpool alone.
Seconded. Can see them going under the radar & quietly racking the wins up while the media drool over City & Liverpool.
Most successful PL team over last decade right? Last season is irrelevant, if they get their shit together they typically win the league.
No it isn't.
This reminds me of the often quoted example from a while ago of Montanes being priced @100 against Federer on a grass surface. It looks like value, but it isn't.
City are the favourites obviously and odds reflect that. If you are looking for value, there are Liverpool, Chelsea, maybe Tottenham. I don't think any other side has a realistic chance of winning it.
45/1 on betfair currently.
We should be around 100/1 according this lot - https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/ (well 99/1 but that doesn't get offered at most places)
Edit: Can't see us getting as low as 63 points which their projection currently has us at. Sporting Index, a spread betting firm reckon we're looking at 70 at the moment - https://www.sportingindex.com/sprea...4d-925da5f6175a/premier-league-points-2018-19
Call me an optimist but I think we'll get more than that too but I don't see us winning it.
I'd love to see the stats for each PL winner and how many games they lost in the PL winning season. Two so far for us and conservatively I can see us losing three more quite easily. Then there are the draws of course. Nevermind, the stats will be somewhat worthless anyway since we're also facing several strong teams and I cannot remember the PL ever being this competitive since it was formed.
I don't really know what point I'm making but what I'm trying to say is that we need a near perfect league campaign starting with the next game and with the weaknesses we have I don't see it would be possible to achieve anything near this. Someone mentioned 13/8 for top four. I wouldn't bite at that either. It's going to be a tough campaign IMO and top 4 will be an achievement of sorts.
I'd guess Chelsea in 2016/17 odds is greater than us when they are 8 points behind the leaders in just 6 games.
We can take some inspiration from Chelsea in 2016/17. They started strong but lost at home to Liverpool and humiliated by Arsenal in back to back games. Exactly the position we are in now with two defeats as well. Except they were 8th and we are 10th (not much difference). Conte ditched the old formation, introduced the 3-4-3 and they went on a 13 game winning run. We still have a chance but we can't lose any more points really. We will have to break some records to win the title.
This is ridiculous. We were 3rd favourites to win the title before the start of the season and just a few bad results, and it's still so early in the season, we are now fecking 40/1 to win the title?! I don't get it. I have a funny feeling that this OP/thread will become a legend come end of the season when we lift our 21st title. GGMU!
This pretty much.
We need to win like 10+ straight.
I reckon we have more chance of winning the champions league than the EPL this season.
I have a good feeling that we'll get more points than 81 points if you consider our 81 points last season where we dropped 6 points over the Christmas we drew a lot of games in a row against Leicester City, Burnley and Southampton. We seem to lose motivation at end of the season with no intensity, that cost us like 9 points otherwive our point would be high like 87+. There's always expected to lose in one of the games against top 6 sides, it's not bad as it seems, even Chelsea lost games against Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and us but they went to win the league with 93 points. Let's make sure we can't afford to lose games outside top 6 if we want to win the league or at getting 90+ will mark more positives for us going into next season when we make an investment in summer to improve us.
40/1 is an extremely good price.
They change it after every round. You are right, before season it was 8.50 for Utd to win title and now it's 34.00.
For us it was 17.00 before season and now we are on 11.00.
I think the price is right. The problem is not having lost 2 games, after all Utd is only 4 points behind Man City. The problem is if City crumbles, there are like 2 or 3 better sides to take advantage of that.
A bit like Arsenal is very close to finishing 5th, but far away from entering Top4.
40/1 is definitely overpriced. 28/1 seems about right
Can I have that as an each way bet?
I just think that when you think things are certain suchnas city winning it again,it just doesn't happen. Wit KDB out, and few other issues,I don't think city will win it. Their confidence is fragile.
I have a sneaky filling we will be in the mix,and win this.
Alexis, Rashford, Pogba, Lukaku linking up well, Lingard being big part too. But maybe I have rose painted glasses.
Separate names with a comma.
