Unsuprising. A fair few Town fans are just cnuts... (I suppose it's the same at every club, but I tend to notice it more with Town for some reason).

Annoying really, as they're my second team! Really happy they're in the play-off final... though they'll probably choke against Sheffield United.

As a kid in Batley the bigger lads (AKA bullies) gave us a choice of who to support...Man Utd, Town or Leeds...I chose Leeds of course!

I have always disliked Town and Sheff Utd are not Leeds fans fav club either so it's bad news whoever comes up. Quite pleased Wednesday made it though.

Ahhh a Batley lad aye? I was unaware of that!

Being from Mirfield, half of my mates supported Leeds, the other half supported Huddersfield. I supported Man Utd under strict orders from my dad... with punishment of disownmet should I disobey.

I keep an eye out for Town, try go to a few of their games and generally like to see them do well, though I don't really get overly annoyed about it when the opposite occurs. I think Town have a good chance against Sheffield... what with Rhodes scoring in his last few games, and Ched Evans being locked away. Should be a decent game.

Dons have made the playoffs three years in a row and flopped, won't be long before they have a name change to Dont's.

Officially no longer contracted to us. I feel like going and getting drunk to celebrate.

When did it start? Ever since the double break he suffered from going to block that free kick?

Since he was turned into a midfielder, to be honest. There were a few anomalous performances like against Chelsea and Roma, for example, but he wasn't great for us even before his leg break.

    Started really well, though.

I always liked him when he was playing for us. In fairness, I was too young to know any better.

Oh, feck off. He was played out of position, then has his fecking ankle separated from his body. Have a little respect for a man who did all he was asked and then had his career permanently altered because of it.

I feel that Smith was emblematic of a brief (relatively) poor and lean era for us. When we started to become brilliant again he became surplus to requirements. A lot of fans like the headless chicken type of player as they feel that he is 'giving his all for the shirt'. To me the headless chicken is just a playing style as the said chicken plays exactly the same regardless of what shirt he is wearing.

I wish the guy well as he was obviously well liked in the dressing room but he was never really Man Utd quality.

His goal against Norwich was class though.

His best goal return was 11 goals for Leeds in 2000.

That's why he became a midfielder, not good enough as a forward especially when he couldn't be guaranteed a starting berth all season.

But he was Premier League quality, a battler and a good professional. Many didn't want a Leeds player when he signed, but many were sorry to see him go when he left.

He's just spent 5 years taking 60k a week off us for feck all. As far as I'm concerned he's a footballing fraud and I make no quarms about celebrating the fact he is no longer stealing a living off the back of our supporters' hard earned cash.

Selling him to Newcastle for £6m was one of the best bits of transfer business that Fergie has ever done.

That was hilarious. Unrefined but it gets you hyped up as a fan to see that. Still a headless chicken though.

You think he should have offered to tear up his contract on the basis that he wasn't as good as he was supposed to be?

With a bit of talent he's always possessed + determination and PL experience he should be playing at some midtable PL club right now. Either that injury put such a great strain on him or I don't know. Enigma really.

I hated that signing. I am convinced Fergie went through a senile period. I would also say he was less talented that the other shite signings around that time (Bellion, Djemba and Kleberson)

Yes I would. I think Bellion had a far more footballing talent than Alan Smith

He was quick anyway. That's about all I remember of Bellion and the same goal he scored for Sunderland being shown on skysports news everytime he was mentioned.

He kicked the living shit out of chelsea players that day, I mean literally kicked them right off the park

Also brings back memories of how ruthless and effective Chelsea used to be in those days. Thank feck they weren't able to sustain the same kind of performances for more than a couple of seasons.

Well that's a bit mental. Bellion had a good bit of speed on him though.

I guess it depends on what you mean by talent, Alan Smith was strong which obviously helps. Except it doesn't.
