Hasn't his wages been reduced to around 350,000 now and even less if he doesn't play, due to the 25% decrease for failing to achieve champions league football?

You just know though that if Juventus get him for free he will be brilliant for them as they seem to be one of the most shrewdest clubs going when it comes to getting a bargain.

What has Sanchez accomplished the last 2 years to warrant these wages?...

We will show feck all if we ship out Alexis and keep cloggers like Lingard. If anything Alexis’s leaving is mostly down to the player not wanting to be here anymore and accepting a pay cut.

Let's face it, he's been told he's got no future at United and he's probably due a pay-cut due to no CL and appearance based add ons.

Anyone that isn't interested in playing in China knows that at some point, your pride has to kick in and although it's not his fault, I would suspect you'd be fecking ashamed about coming into training every day, knowing you've been absolutely gash while everyone kicks up a fuss about their pay due to those reasons. That's not a positive or supportive work environment so it makes absolute sense as to why it benefits both parties for him to get the feck out at whatever the cost.

Read somewhere that if he goes on loan United will pay half of his wage

The buy/swap is not the problem here, but the wages. Whoever gave him that contract did the most damage, that wasn’t Mourinho. Mkhitaryan for Alexis was a brilliant deal a year ago.

Both Inter and Juventus have shown interest in three of our players. Sanchez, Lukaku and Darmian. Italians are the only league where we see frequent swap deals as well. So maybe we can get one or two players in exchange from them. Cancelo and Dybala from Juve and Icardi and Skriniar from Inter are the players we could be targeting.

Nothing. His contract stitched United up good style. The amount of money we've paid to him could have bought us a decent right back.

They can have him for free.

If they changed their mind, just say if, then we can offer them Jones and Young for free too....

Buy one for free, and get 2 more for free.....

I would gladly show up to training and sit on the bench for 3 years and cash in. Nothing wrong with adhering to the terms of a legally binding contract on both sides.

Getting rid of Sanchez would be a good start to the summer. Having an essentially useless player on those sort of wages is bound to impact on recruitment elsewhere.

Yep. It would take some convincing for me to give up that wage at that stage of my career. If you behave like a professional, work hard and try your best then you've held up your end of the deal.

Mou decided the player was worth the contract. Also, Mou was the one who signed Mikhi.

Basically, he signed a crap player. Identified another crap player to make a swap with but just extra wages  specialist in failure.

This is the problem, backing the manager and getting the player he wanted is a problem, not backing the manager after learning from the mistakes is also a problem.

Jose wanted Sanchez and Woodward broke the wage structure to sign him. He was backing the manager with everything manager wanted, well at least till the last summer.

Before anyone says we didn't sign perisic, there isn't much Woodward can do when player rejects the move.

Yeah but Mourinho got us to second place after spending only £300 million, this means he's a better manager than Matt Busby and if we had signed Toby Alderweireld he probably would have gone on to win the quad.

The reason we don't really know who makes the final call on transfer decisions is because there is no single person. It's probably discussed between CEO and Manager mainly, with either having a certain degree of veto power, but owners have ultimate power, though they don't get involved as much.

Suggesting it's either Woodward or Mourinho to blame for the Sanchez transfer is silly. 80% of the fanbase were optimistic and feeling very happy about getting Sanchez.

If it was purely a Woodword signing, Mourinho wouldn't have to play him, so there has to be some level of agreement over transfers between manager and CEO, particularly with a club like United, without a good structure or DoF. There is no other way they can function without transfers. Although "functioning" is a bit of a stretch in describing United at the moment.

At the end of the day, 100% of the blame is down to Sanchez. It's obviously not intentional on his part to be such a dismal failure for United, but there's not much more that needs to be debated regarding Sanchez. United undoubtably should bite the hand off of anyone willing to take him at this point. Worst transfer in United history.

Like many, I really thought he would be huge for us. As important for us as Aguero is to city.

More background should have been done by the club. His last 6 months at Arsenal and his time with us has shown he’s done.

Not his fault we offered stupid money. He can do what he likes. It's our own fault.

How come it's our own fault when he turns shite? Shouldn't it be on the player?

All he has to do is be willing to accept a pay cut to make it easier for us to move on. No harm, no foul. Failing that, let him rot in the reserves. Don't give him another minute in the first team.

I’m not sure we ever went for him, wasn’t it between Liverpool and Arsenal?

I couldn’t believe at the time we never went for him.

If Sanchez will accept to earn 1/3 than now maybe could be interested for Inter (maybe with the help of United paying most of his wages of course)

At Udinese it was supposed to be us, as for later it was rumored that we went for him as did Liverpool but he wanted to go to London. But maybe I'm not remembering well and the second time it was only Liverpool?

If Inter can re-ignite his form and maybe nab Lukaku, they can be quite a side. Godin is set to go there isn't he? Would be a great partner with Skriniar. Plus they have Niangolan and Perisic (not sure how good he is now).

With all the meltdowns he caused in the media over him choosing united over city, would have been great if he played like the player we thought we were signing.

Shame but has to be moved on this summer.

Since when do managers negotiate transfers and how do you 100% know it's a Jose signing. Bit of a stupid thing to say really.

We know there's a number of people involved with our transfers, Woody Lawlor and then the manager.

Woody's going to think that based off wages, only Messi, Ronaldo & Neymar are paid more so must be of similar quality therefore will hold out for a fee of atleast 100m...

Its not the money thats the problem its his side of the bargain. Play well. No other business i can think of where you can be so sht and not get fired or move company but your original company pays half your wages. Its ridiculous.

Manager knows there's a limited budget and what players are worth getting. It's how it's always been. Pretty sure he didn't identify alexis as a fringe player with woody offering the contract.

I will laugh even harder when we replace them with Bruno and Jovic who then go on to perform even worse.
