The risk of forcing a player to stay.
Completely given up the ghost as an Arsenal player.
    He's not even trying.

If City get Sanchez the league is in massive trouble.

I agree. He’s looked uninterested for weeks. Both Ozil and Sanchez will leave for free in the summer and Arsenal will suffer for it.

Wonder how much they'd get for him? Not going to be a huge fee .

I don't think City would still want him. If anything they're light on CB's instead of offensive players.

25m was the number being touted recently.

I don't think he'd improve City tbh. Sane and Sterling are more wingers than Sanchez.

The league is over. They'll want him for the Champions League KO games.

    Sounds about right.

Lot's of Arsenal fans were saying he would perform anyway since it's a world cup year.. That logic seems to be working for Ozil but not him..

With Chile now being eliminated,he seems to be just a passenger in some games..

So they'd have turned down £50m in the Summer so that they could keep hold of him for an extra 4 months, in which he blatantly did not give a shit anymore, and then sell him in January for £25m.

Even by Wenger standards, that would be a fecking ludicrous set of decisions.

I can definitely see it happening.

To be fair to Sanchez, before the last United match he had three goals in a row against Tottenham, Burnley and Huddersfield, plus he also scored against Everton and produced an incredible moment of brilliance against Cologne, he's still their best player even now.. I don't think he will go to City, Pep won't bench Jesus or Aguero and Sterling and Sane are in superb form, I think it's much more likely he goes to Real Madrid to replace Benzema or to PSG to replace Cavani.

He might go to PSG but it wont be to replace this season's leading scorer in the top European leagues.

I hope City sign him. I don’t think he’d improve them that much and he’s 29 in a few weeks. I rather City sign Sánchez than someone like Dybala.

Well, Sanchez alongside Mbappe and Neymar would make them stronger than with Cavani, Sanchez is just a better player, but fair play to Cavani, he is a very decent striker. What I meant was really that if they could get Sanchez and they had to choose between him and Cavani (If Cavani got angry) who knows...haha

Would he be able to play in them? Doesn't cup-ties count for both the Europa and the CL?

Why? The EPL will just be the same as most "competitive" leagues.

Agreed. If I could have any Arsenal player without question it'd be Ozil.

Can't agree, Ozil is and always will be an incredably inconsistent player. Maybe Jose can get him back to his Real form but I feel that was a combination of playing in a physically weaker league with the best team in the league.

Cavani is top 1-2 striker in the world and probably in the top 10-15 players. Not to mention that Sanchez's best position is on the wings, so there's no way he would start over Cavani

Ozil is still always good for Germany.

He's surrounded by average players. Take him and Sanchez out of their starting 11 and there isn't a single player I'd be interested in having at United.

Cup and country is incredably different than a league campaign. Ozil has massives of ability but not the heart or workrate to go with it.

You don't play for the likes of Madrid, Arsenal and Germany if you aren't a worker. He wouldn't of made it so far if he was lazy.

Ozil is class. I hope he comes to United.

He's always been the type that needs to be pushed imo. That's why he was so good under Jose who by all accounts didn't take any of his shit. Wenger on the other hand is probably just so happy that a player like Ozil even plays for him.

Totally agree, like I said he has all the ability in the world but he is lazy. If that's your "natural" mindset your always going to be hard work, I don't see where he would fit in at United at all.

I'd be interested to see what Mourinho could do with Ozil. At his best with RM, Ozil was world class (at least as good as current KDB/Silva imo). He definitely seems to have lost quite a bit of quickness since then, but maybe he could get back to near that level in the right environment.

I'm not able to post links yet, but check out Ozil's performance vs Barca in 2012 Copa Del Rey if you want an idea of how good he was back then.

You can use several arguments to make your point but being sold by Madrid isn't one of them. They also got rid of several other players who were deemed "not good enough" and yet they had excellent careers elsewhere.

This has been coming a while and isn't something new. He has this weird attitude problem where he tries his best until it goes tits up and then he looks disinterested, as though he doesn't want to be associated with the performance and wants to look like he is above it.

I'd really hate having a player like this at United.

Madrid sold Robben and Sneijder when they shouldn’t have too.

Don't see it sorry, for the third time he has exceptional talent but he isn't a worker. If Ozil was that good there is one team who would be all over him and you know who that is, and right now, they aren't.

Doesn't he come near the top of the charts for distance covered for Arsenal? I don't think he's as lazy as he looks, more he just has an almost languid style.

Yup Sneijder really kicked on and I think Madrid thought Robben had peaked. Look just answer me, have you seen Ozil consistently put a shift in at Arsenal?

Of course City aren't, they had De Bruyne, David Silva, Gundogan and Bernardo. What would they need Ozil for?
