Hey caftards, I want to bring my father to OT and was wandering what is the best way to get couple of tickets for any home match. Hoping for anything in Feb or March.

    Morning guys!

Look for a pair for the Sevilla game in OT (13th March) or the Liverpool game (10th March) in OT!

    Any luck?
    Many thanks!

Anyone have any advice on best way to get tickets for the games at West Ham and Crystal Palace? Would it be possible to get tickets in their home end?

Just checked West Ham for you mate. Need to buy a Claret membership which is £25 each to be able to buy tickets for the game. I'd get on it now.

Palace you can forget as it is such a small ground.

For Palace try their message boards, there's a few who can't make it due to the fixture change:

Cheers I saw that earlier but I saw something about its only open to certain members so wasn't sure if buying a membership would even allow me to get it.

Cheers, I was thinking of doing that for both. Will definitely give it a try.

After being chubbed earlier in the year for Huddersfield, got one for the FA Cup! Should be great, we have the whole stand at our end. Any tips on pubs full of Reds from last time out?

Huddersfield was one of two in the league I got but just had tenth clubbing in a row and desperate to go and correct last time.

That's really unlucky. I'm only applying for one ticket each time, maybe that is helping my chances?

I usually apply for minimum of 2 tickets. Sometimes 3 or 4 depending on when the game is. I've had 4 this season. We don't apply for every game due to the new rules brought in last season. Probably applied for 70% of the games.

10 in a row is bad luck but not uncommon. Something needs to be done about the way the ballot is run. I'd be happy if you get a ticket, you can't go into the next ballot.

As you say at about 1 in 100 chance could be another 50 in the same position, also seems if you get one that you have a better chance of the next one, applied for every match got 2 plus Swansea cup and 4 euro aways. Maybe they should reward euro aways as well

Unsuccessful in the Sevilla ballot. I haven’t been successful in a ballot in what seems like forever. And I only apply for one ticket at a time. Sick of it at this point.

You need to be tactical about the price bands you apply for.

I apply for the top two all the time with the option to take a cheaper ticket always ticked ‘yes’. I haven’t been successful in a ballot in at least two and a half years. But the ticket office often ring me with returns. For example they rang me on Thursday offering a Chelsea ticket. I took it but now flights are through the roof!

Has absolutely no bearing on it whatsoever @Kazi.

The only thing that can affect it is if you exclude Tier 3 from your application.

Seems to be something in that, like the system somehow gives preference to first timers appliers. Happens all the time.

Yeah, I'd agree. I was late in applying for games this season and was successful in my first application which was the Everton game. Then it was a long slog until yesterday, when I was informed that I was successful in the Sevilla ballot, which I totally wasn't expecting. Had a callback for last week's game against Huddersfield though, and I suppose I've missed plenty of those these last two years, so it works out in the end.

Hopefully next season I'll get a season ticket and I'll 'only' have to worry about away game applications!

You'll have three years to wait until the worrying starts though.

I'm a disabled fan, so I can apply for apply for away tickets by virtue of just being a member (for now) once the disabled season tickets have been fully phased in and everyone has had the chance of having a ticket for at least 3 years (2025ish I think) then it'll go to the standard system of 3 year-long season ticketholders...

I won't say my success rate in away game applications on here though, might just piss off a few :nervous:

Surely if you put the prices for the upper tier quadrants & SAF tier 3 as your top two choices, you’re more likely to get a ticket. Haven’t applied for a home game in quite a while, but back when I did, I always used this strategy if I really wanted a ticket and almost always got one (Real Madrid at home being the exception).

This isn't true at all. Your individual luck in getting tickets doesn't make it any sort of clever tactics, it simply makes it your individual luck!

They can give you a ticket outside your initial preferences. It's not a numbers game on specific stands.

Be wary that there's not a huge amount of time to post a ticket between the Liverpool game and this game.

Nar @Kazi. As Sandikan pointed out below this post, and as I said previously, it has absolutely zero bearing. You have simply been lucky.
First you are successful in the ballot, only then does the system try to allocate you according to your preferences, if your preferences are no longer available, the system will simply allocate you in another area.
