I can't get no, satisfaction.
"That's a mute point."
No it's not it's MOOT, you prick! It's not a silent point is it?
"A make or brake situation". Ok...
"Isn't heindsight a wonderful thing?"
Nah, it's not. Hindsight is the shit though.
Seen another one today:
"Its a total eye soar"
So it's so ugly it makes your eyes fly right out of the sockets does it? Personally it just makes my eyes a bit sore, but fair enough.
I believe the linguist Steven Pinker considers it to be sarcasm, and thus correct.
And personally I get ill from all the unsuccessful attempts at writing 'its' on this forum.
Er...actually...it is another think coming. Not thing.
Someone else may have already pointed that out but I couldn't be arsed to read the thread.
The correct expression is, "If you THINK that, then you've got another THINK coming!"
There is no "thing" involved.
You are right.
However you are missing both and apostrophe and a space in your username, therefore you're just being a hypocrite.
Oh yeah! Never actually thought that before.
Ah you see, you thought one thing...and now you've had another think.
A most satisfying conclusion to this thread.
Well by that logic you've just pointed out how the other word could make sense.
I can't be asked to read the hole of this thread, but Wonder Pigeon is a tart.
His sister sounds cool, though.
I like saying "I appreciate you as a whole" to any girls I might be flirting with, and seeing if they spot the ambiguity.
Are you Polish?
Meh, I was going to say I appreciate you as a Pole...but now you're officially of no use to me.
I do HAVE one, though.
That is preposterous.
What if somebody literally has another thing coming?
As in if somebody receives a parcel and is due another one tomorrow, they could say "I've got another thing coming".
This comment is postposterous.
Depends what's in the parcel.
Suppose there are thoughts in the parcel?
What if you don't think you have another parcel coming, but you actually do?
Woah. Head fuck.
What if you imagined the parcel in the first place? What if this isn't real? What if you're all figments of my imagination? What if we're all the same people? If someone posts the Entertainment forum and no ones around, does that post get noticed? So many questions, so few answers.
What if there are thoughts in the parcel, and the thoughts are of a thing in a parcel?
My head is starting to hurt..
Don't Americans say "I could care less if so and so said that" when the correct expression is "I couldn't care less..."?
What do you mean you could care less? Are you saying that you actually might be inclined to care a bit less about the thing just said when what you actually meant was that you could not, or indeed couldn't care less?
Could you all care less?
"I've got another thing with a think about thinks in a thing coming!"
To be fair Americans say a lot of stupid things.
It's the thought that counts.
Do you have to pay postage for sending a parcel of thoughts?
You can't eat your cake and have it too.
Average human brain: 3 lbs.
quality rant and very succinctly portrays my feelings on that phrase.
All his rants are quality. This one hits closest to the bone for me...
IT'S JUST FOR SHOW!!!
