You're telling me that there are only two midfielders in the world better than our current players?
They are right now but not by much. We have a developing team though so as always I expect us to see of these false contenders.
We're having a meltdown.
Man City will never be better than us, until they win the title using home grown players, and buying players from money earned at the gate, not from what's been handed to them on a plate.
No, what's being said is that despite how poor you think our players are, or how in need people think they need to be replaced, we're still level on points with a team that stopped us from gaining any whilst gaining 6 themselves and should be ahead by a lot more than they are.
So obviously, the fact that we almost won the league with these players, shows that it's not the end of the world should we not sign a midfield player. Even though one would improve us.
Well done City, you've bought the title with your Arab oil money.
Hopefully, but are the FFP rules even enforceable?
The one honest thing in Eastlands:
The "Thank you Sheikh Mansour" banner.
Yes it's that easy to go get Xavi, Alonso etc...
I am talking players who we could realistically have gotten. You will come with untested players like Hazard et al.
Why should these young lads get in our team assuming we had a fully fit midfield?
Next seasons I do believe he will address the midfield, if it possible to do so.
Signing players, and the right players is far easier said than done.
For a while it seemed like we were the more consistent team in the league. It is a marathon after all and not a sprint. But due to inexplainable circumstances, we let them back into the race and paid for it by letting them have the title decider at home in front of their own fans.
Tonight they were clearly the better team than us. Their fitness levels were much higher than ours and even at 1-0 up they were still constantly attacking us and never giving us any room to operate in. Its no surprise they have the best defence in the Premiership.
Our midfield clearly was too old and slow today. The selection of Park, Giggs AND Scholes was a bit baffling. Im fine with having one or two of them on at the same time but tonight it clearly slowed us down and allowed citeh to put pressure on us deep in our own half. However, I don't think we are too far away. A few fresh faces in the midfield either via the transfer market or within our own team (Cleverley, Anderson, Pogba) will put us on par or at least much closer to them. Lets not forget we are a team in transition right now and hopefully we will get enough money over the summer to continue to finish the rebuilding.
In hindsight It was a mistake to include Giggs & Park in place of Young & Valencia. I understand Fergie wanting to go with experience but it might have been a different match altogether if we had fielded our best players rather than our more "dependable" ones.
Fair enough. But if you disagree. Tell me why.
Do we currently have a better squad?
Time to activate Agents Bardsley, O'shea, Richardson and Brown, 4 ogs each will do lads
I wonder what it would have been like if he hadn't come back?
Said that a few times this season and got shouted at occasionally.. but I don't think we can keep relying Scholes and Giggs and shouting 'experience'
at anyone who questions it, without ending up second best - or worse. Chelsea are suddenly like a team reborn now. Even Torres has found his boots.
Thanks mate, good advice...I'm going to have to watch it, I'm just slipping into depression now.
Yeah, there's only xavi and alonso better than park, Anderson and cleverley. As great as scholes has been to be relying on a 37 year old and a 38 year old in midfield is a disgrace at a club of our stature.
Better to be magnanimous than bitter.
And yet we almost won the league.
City will only get better. Hopefully we will too though but we need a solid 3 absolute top draw signings.
This squad has well over performed and if anything City have under.
We've had 3 genuine contenders for a spot in our midfield injured for most of the season: Cleverley, Anderson and Fletcher.
Ferguson wasn't to know the first two would be so injury-prone throughout the year.
I think us playing for the draw is what did us in tonight. If we had attacked from the start by starting Valencia, Young and Welbeck, we would have been fine.
That particular poster rarely has any worthwhile input on this forum. His post did not surprise me
Yeah I don't usually see much from him other than calling people cnuts and telling them to feck off.
Don't worry Randall, I agree with you, it's a fair thing to say. Now feck off!
Course not, your input consists of a thread titled "Man City are better than us"
Look in the mirror.
Stop sniffing around his arse FFS.
I am not bitter, just think it is a daft and exaggerated statement with little to no substance.
They've brought the title, no wonder they are better than us.
The only way to beat us is to spend more than us, Blackburn, Chavs, Shitty, our only worthy opponents were Arse.
You failed to answer my question. It is a valid discussion.
I must say I feel safer knowing that you are a copper in a different country than me.
Vidic plays as many games as Kompany this season, we win the league. It's that simple.
Can't give any credit to City, they deserve nothing, lottery winners. Fingers crossed they feck it up.
You bring so much to this forum. What a discussion you have generated. Hats off to you Sir.
Haven't you already addressed my OP?
You are an odd little man
He's an oxygen thief and has never posted anything worth reading.
That's like saying that Ferguson deserves no credit for winning the European Cup in 2008 because he had the best squad in Europe. Ferguson has built this squad, if it fails then the buck stops with him.
If you'd told me before the season started that we wouldn't win anything but we'd expose a racist I would've said 'yes please, I'll take that.' Give me a moral victory over an actual victory any day of the week.
City were crap tonight. But they scored a header from a set piece.
Already said the last part, if you read it.
The point is we are a far more experienced side and one which you would expect not to drop those points I have highlighted.
My point is, in response to Randall, Man City are not better than us and that is that.
And that is your contribution...
Pot, Kettle, Black
Odd little man?
You are the one following me around the forum you weirdo
Yeah, and the cup competitions went well didn't they.
