Don't know what to make of our friends down south. There has been talk Emery has only 50m to spend this summer. At the moment, Arsenal's likely signings are Lichtsteiner, Fellaini and Papastathopoulos. Three free transfers and one whose contract has a year to run. They also have players with not much left on their contracts, Wilshere, Welbeck and Ramsey. They might be saving money to go big on one player.
What can we expect from them?

As much as I want rid of Fellaini, the idea of him lining up against us is worry.

I don't know why I feel that way.

At his best he's great in the air and we're poor in that area defensively.

Two matches a season is not enough to give a player a contract.
He would be useful for Arsenal but we need to move on.

I reckon when they picked up Mislintat their fans didn't expect them to sign Sokratis, Lichtsteiner and Fellaini the following summer.

Arsenal's attacking contingent look good on paper, just need some time playing together to get it happening and for Aubemayang to settle into the league. Midfield has issues that I dont think 50mil can fix however.

I thought Mislintat could find all these obscure names who would go on to be world-beaters. Sokratis, Lichsteiner and Fellaini seem like good experienced options and different to what they have now so maybe it's a good move but there not the most exciting names.

All the talk was over buying N'Zonzi for a week and now suddenly its Fellaini on a free  I think his agent is just making things up to be honest

Either way, it looks like Wilshere is done. Ramsey will probably re-sign because from early reports Emery rates him.

 Fellaini will be the 7th place scapegoat for yet another team changing out a long-term manager.

Fellaini would get more games at Man Utd than Arsenal. I do hope he gets himself sent off in an important game.
I'm not comvinced by Emery. Arsenal will be 6th again.

Why would you want him to leave? He is a dangerous player. I don't think he should EVER get a start other than cup games (or to cover injuries), but he is a dangerous player to come off the bench when chasing a game. I don't know if I have ever seen a player with better chest control and who can be so dominant in the 18 as he is. I personally think he should be a striker, not a midfielder...

He controls the ball better with his chest than he does with his feet.

Would not be that good if Arsenal buys/get these three players but the only one that is really close is Sokratis. He makes sense because Arsenal lost Mertesacker and Kosicelny and they don't have a physical central defender. Lichtsteiner might be ok as backup for Bellerin depending on his wages. Fellaini makes no sense unless Wilshere leaves but also then Arsenal have AMN. But Sokratis and Lichtsteiner would be an ok start. Nothing too exciting but solid and good deals.

Arsenal will need 1 GK, 1-2 CB, 1 RB BU, 1 CM, 1 Winger
    - 1 GK: ?
    - CB: Sokratis
    - CB: ? (If Mustafi leaves)
    - RB BU: Lichtsteiner
    - CM: ?
    - Winger: ?

So I guess It's clever not to spend all the money already. But it really depends what else they get.

Fellaini and Xhaka has to be the worst midfield in the top 6 comfortably.

Not the greatest....but I wouldn't expect him to be scoring from outside 8 yards. I would play him up front for his hold up play and for his dominance in the box. I'm not thinking of him as a "skillful striker". More of a "Heskey" type player...

Arsenal fans told me that their £50m 'war chest' is actually £250m as players get written off over contract length (five years for marquee signings normally). On my list would be: Marchisio, Fekir, Andre Gomes, Kovacic, Vermaelen (;)), Koulibaly, all Bayern rejects - just get some decent names in. Pavard also.

I would love for them to sign Fellaini, it's the first step for them in becoming Stoke and bring Pulis back to the PL.

Terrible PR from Arsenal if true. It is likely BS. They spent big in January for them.

Lichsteiner, Sokratis, Fellani. Looks like they're shopping in the bargain bin to me.

We got Lichtsteiner on a free today. Experienced and a bit cnutish, something we needed. Welcome to the Arsenal!

Talking about the next season, the Europa League is our main target again. Having Emery should help to win it :)
