Did anyone watch them against Villarreal today? If there was ever a team that's going to challenge United for the Europa League this season.

Bad news for Roma is that its rumoured Florenzi is out for another 6-7 months after rupturing his ACL yet again.

    http://app.football-italia.net/?ref...concern-florenzi#article/footballitalia-98472

Very sad and that could even be a career ending injury. :(

Dzeko back to his Wolfsburg best. Shame he wasted so many years at City.

It was a pretty even game but Roma's attack was ruthless and Villareal were toothless. They're certainly one of the favorites for the tournament.

Dzeko on top form is a great striker, always thought he was good, just unlucky he had Aguero in his way. Definitely wouldn't want them in the next round.

It's pretty clear he was nowhere near his best at City though.

Agreed, but so are we, we really shouldn't fear anyone in this tournament. We'll have to beat a lot of good teams if we want to win the thing so may as well think we can beat them, that's always a good start. In a two-legged tie though yeah it'll be a very close game. They're really well organised defensively, look great in attack and their midfield is very solid actually. In fact they don't have a lot of weaknesses really.

Naingolan's been pretty involved in every Roma game I've watched this season. Seems to have a good drive

United doesn't have to fear anyone IMO, recent form suggests United are a stable side. Just some finishing issues here and there but Roma can be handled.

Dzeko's been getting the goals and already has close to 30 goals this season but Nainggolan has a case of being the best CM in the world this season.

We're still a bit shaky at the back but we've improved over the past 3 seasons. I'm glad we've eventually found out a system where we get the best from Dzeko cause he was starting to frustrate me every time we spring a counter.

Would love for this to be the final! A very good side in good form that we can potentially see in the Champions League next season.

What are the standout players this season for Roma apart from Dzeko?

Everybody laughed when the rumours surfaced Chelsea tried to bring Dzeko back. It would be good for the spirit of European football, if Liverpool or Roma did win it all.

    Who laughed?

Why do people enjoy making stuff up? People laughed when Carroll, Crouch and Barnes were linked. Nobody laughed about Dzeko.

Must have been a fantastic night for their fans. Happy for them all honestly. Thanks scenes at the stadium after the ref's whistle were great to watch for any neutral. Things like this make you love football.

Dzeko has turned out to be a fantastic signing for Roma. Bad first season where people thought he was past it but then scored 39 goals last season and is on 20 this season, many of them key goals as well. Shame he went to City back in 2010, was perfect for the premier league but they never utilized him properly.

He's underrated, no disrespect to Roma especially after tonight but he deserves one last move to a bigger club imo.

Clubs like Madrid, Bayern or even United could do with a better striker to come off the bench. He's 32 though so I doubt he'll have any offers.

Roma is perfect for him now at this stage IMO. Twilight of his career, feels comfortable there, they know how to play to his strengths, pace of the league works for him at his age, etc.. Chelsea tried signing him but all indications were he didn't want to move in January.

Roma played like real men last night. RESPECT.

Barcelona was beyond terrible last night, they played like ISL players, I mean they were misplacing passes, trying hoof balls, WTF.

I am not sure people laughed about Chelsea signing Dzeko. I myself said I couldn't see Roma selling him mid season. The money they might get ain't as much as if he stays and help them secure CL football for next season. Saint Pep let go both DEko and Koralov who can do a pretty decent job for their sides in similar situation. In Koralov case, ugh genius to play him as CB when the guy's best asset is going forward

Feck off with L'pool to win it all though.

People didn't laugh when they tried to sign Dzeko, many said it would be good deal. Everyone laughed when they were linked with Carroll, Crouch and other target man.

It would be shit for European football if Liverpool win it, on the other hand Roma winning it would be glorious.

The ultras of these cnuts assaulted our fans in 07, and Totti shittalked us.

Feck them, hope Liverpool give them a bitchslap over 2 legs and then got dumpstered in the final.

They have obvious reason to. Not the same case with Roma. The 7-1 was fecking sweet after the debacle in Rome.

And I’d prefer to turn the delusion of RAWK and the entire Liverpool fan base up a notch before seeing them get shattered :smirk:.

Hopefully Liverpool draw Madrid and are humiliated. Don't want them any closer to runners up medal too.

Allison is probably the second best passing GK after Neuer. With the CL semis and being Brazil's #1 he has a real chance of making a name for himself these next few months.

Always enjoy watching Roma play, they always have an interesting squad and pick up some emerging players.

They do have Arsenal-itis though, whenever it comes to the crunch in Seria A they bottle it. Different story in CL but that's more to the quality left of the other three teams.

A few saying why couldn't they beat Liverpool....think Salah would be the difference in that one and they'd struggle against Liverpool's high press.

Conte wanted him instead of Giroud in Janaury but he didn't want to sit on Chelsea bench.

Not just passing. Top 5 keeper going by this season alone. He is the best Serie A keeper this season. He wont be too long there, can see some top clubs going in in the summer. Just hope he doesnt come to the PL
