So after the FA Cup final it seemed obvious that a move for Willian would be on the cards for us, but then the UCL final happened and now it seems both Ronaldo and Bales futures are up for discussion. So who should we go for (hypothetically) if all 3 are indeed available?

Willian - seems to want to leave Chelsea if Conte is still there next season however that seems unlikely, so will there still be the desire on Willian's part to move? Chelsea were on the end of a lot of media stick for selling us Matic last summer, would they really want to face that again? IIRC though Willian only has 2 years left on his current contract and given his age this may be the last chance Chelsea have to get some serious money in for him

Bale - a month ago it seemed certain he would leave Real, after the UCL might they reconsider this especially if Ronaldo were to force a move? Surely even if they sign Neymar Madrid wouldn't sell both Bale and Ronaldo?

Ronaldo - every summer there's speculation so we've learnt to ignore it but I think he definitely wanted out last year due to the Tax business, he's obviously not happy with the amount he's being paid and if he's got wind of Neymar being on the way he definitely won't want his place as their main man to be under threat (which it inevitably will as he gets older)

Personally I think Bale is the likeliest of the 3 to move and if he comes back to the PL there's no way Woodward will let him go anywhere but here

Willian for 10. Bale for the right flank. We have no space for CR7

Willian would fit our current team far better than the other two.

I don't want either to be honest. I think Ronnie is on the decline, he is too high maintenance and would cost something absurd in both transfer fee and wages given that he's not what he used to be, even if he's a goal machine (note: that Real Madrid team is set up to get him goals, apart from last night where he wasn't the focal point of attack, which is maybe one of the reasons he had his ego tantrum at the end). Bale had a superb off-the-bench performance last night but it doesn't change the fact that he's very injury prone and would also command a huge transfer fee and very high wages. If somehow he could stay fit a whole season it would be a no-brainer, he would fit the team better than Ronaldo (who would make Lukaku quite redundant).

None of them, Ronaldo is still top class but we don't have the set-up for him to thrive, Bale is still worryingly injury prone and Willain isn't good enough, but if I was to pick one of the 3 it would be Bale as he's easier to fit in than Ronaldo and would be less drama, and he's miles better than Willian with vastly superior end product.

Bale would cause havoc in a free role behind Lukaku, Willian on the right,Sanchez on the left would be devastating, lets hope we can get both.

We have Mata and Lingard playing there in what world is Willian not good enough over those two?

How does Willian fit better. If Bale is on our right flank, the opposition will have all the attention on him rather than trying to attack down that flank. He would rarely need to track back. Bale's issue is injuries.
We cannot provide Ronaldo the service he needs at this stage of his career.

Is Willian any good as a 10? Bale isn't too shabby behind the striker either is be.

Do agree we can and should look to fit both into the squad.

We could have one of the best most.dynamic front four:

    Lukaku
    Bale - Alexis - Willian

I don't think he was any better than Lingard last season, however that's irrelevant, being a bit better than Mata and Lingard doesn't mean someone is of the level we should be looking at to give that front 3 the magic it's sorely lacking, I mean Mahrez is much better than Willian, Lingard and Mata but I don't think he's good enough either if we want to really boost that mediocre forward line that is totally reliant on individual brilliance as we don't play as a unit like most top teams, Bale and Ronaldo fit the bill but have the question marks I mentioned.

Seeing Ronaldo prancing around OT again would be perhaps be the only way to make watching us less entertaining (although it would be interesting to see the inevitable car crash between an ageing CR and Jose).

I see us signing Bale. He would cost a fortune, with huge question marks over his longevity, zero re-sell value and be a commercial gold mine - the quintessential modern day United signing.

Ronaldo and Bale are the superior players, but Willian fits our incredibly conservative approach better.

Ronaldo for me was the main man growing up, seeing him back at Old Trafford in a red shirt would give me goose bumps, but i could see it all ending in tears as our team isn't Madrid and won't make him look as good, nor will he produce his 40 odd goals a season ect.

Bale on the other hand is the dream signing for me, always wanted him here. One silly reason reason is too see another Welsh Wizard fly down the wing wearing Giggsy no.11. But I think out of the 3 Bale would tear it up the most, he'd feel like he'd have something to prove i think, having not won the PL, having every Liverpool fan hate him and be scared sh!tless of him.

Willian would be good IF we cant sign Bale, can't see us signing both.

    Bale for me

I think bale would fit Old Trafford like a glove. He'd be the main man with Sanchez and Lukaku close behind. We need someone who can lash it in from distance apart from occasionally Matic and Pogba . Welsh number 11 on the wing again please. Highly doubt it will happen though.

Going by his performance in the Final, I don't think we have much chance of signing Bale. But if there is a chance,

Ronaldo and Willian I have to be honest I feel indifferent

Hopefully we keep our other main attackers to compensate for that because things start to look very good on paper. Bale should be class when available. Almost seems like he could be a better late than never signing for us.

Willian's the only one we can actually get.

Ronaldo's doing his usual contract fanny-ing around and Bale would cost £100m+, which we can't afford.

Willian for £30-40m if he wants to leave would be the sensible option and in terms of overall games played over the next 3 years would be the smarter option.

I think it would be the opposite. Having won 4 CL’s and a La Liga trophy I think Bale would come here feeling like he had nothing to prove. I doubt at this stage he’s bothered that he’s never won a PL. Madrid is his dream club, anywhere else that he goes he isn’t going to be as motivated as he is there, much like Di Maria.

    1. Bale: One of the best players in the world and seems to be undervalued by Zidane. He'd also be an actual winger aside from our clumsy mix of strikers and midfielders that we stick out wide.
    2. Willian: Not as good as Bale but a better worker and fit for us than Ronaldo.
    3. Ronaldo: He left for Madrid. I don't get the clingy attitude some United fans have for him. He's obviously still an amazing goal scorer but I don't see how he'd fit into our team.

Sarri going to Chelsea so Willian probably staying. Ronaldo isnt coming here and without a system that makes chances at all, a mid 30's Ronaldo would not be that special here. Bale for the crazy price and his injury record isnt the best of deals but at least hes a natural right sided player and can score out of nothing and will be a massive improvement over Lingard or Mata.

Would love to go for someone like Leon Bailey, but it's not happening, while seeing another season of Lingard starting or Mata starting would be just brutal so I'm now pro bale.

I don't mind as long as sign a LB, CB and DM first. £200m for Bale on top of those ain't happening so I guess Willian (also unlikely given Conte's upcoming sacking). Ronaldo isn't what we need at all.

Being realistic Malcom is our man.

At the start of this coming season, Bale will have just turned 29, Willian just turned 30, and Ronaldo around 33 and a half.

    I would choose Bale.

Not sure we can afford his wages now we have Sanchez though. Would probably have to take a wage-cut to join us.

I don't think we will buy any of them.

Willian at a stretch if the fee is reasonable (30-40ish).

Bale /Ronaldo just doesnt worth the money, and the wages. 100m is something you'd pay for 25 years old prime player. Not to mention their salary and the risk involved

Completely disagree about Willian. Any player who is good enough to start on the front line for Brazil is good enough for United. But if we are talking about one of these 3 for our right side, I would definitely go with Bale. He would be appreciated a lot more here than he is in Spain too. For me, he is one of the best attacking players on the planet. Absolutely love his directness and he is the total package. Good with both feet, can cross, has a hell of a shot, lightning fast and is a beast in the air. Yes, he has had injury troubles, but I think it's totally worth the gamble. If he were to come, I can see him quickly becoming my favourite player. Mind you, it doesn't hurt that my last name is Jones (Welsh)...

All this talk about William Bale Ronaldo, where does this leave Rashford??

I'd take bale in a heartbeat and I'm sure Jose will want this but to do this in afraid I can see Martial being sold.

I also see no future for Mata either.

That is the role in which he rose to prominence at Shaktar. He can even operate as an 8 Fabtegas style. Its just at Chelsea they decided like was done with Hazard, to employ him on the flanks in their front 3/4. He also give you a 10 that is brilliant at defending and pressing

True. But you'd rather have him as a member of your front 3. He guarantees you more goals than a Willian.

    For me this set up:

    Matic/Fred Pogba
    Bale Willian Alexis
    Lukaku

    Or
    Willian Matic/Fred Pogba

    Bale Lukaku Alexis

    Would be brilliant for us

Mata shouldn't have a future here, Lingard shouldn't ever start if it's not as a #10, Martial is likely to leave anyway with how Mourinho has marginalized him, while Rashford is inconsistent and shouldn't be starting anyway and usually plays on the left anyway.
