Yia if you are going to count just 10-15 matches at the end of the season, no point in having it in December.
Next year who ever performs well in the world cup winning team regardless of year long performance will win it.

Next year the WC will decide who wins it I think, Don't see Portugal and Argentina doing well there, we'll see.

Wow, Kaka's English is excellent! Almost a hint of an american accent there.

Yes Mbappé was also excellent in L1 in early 2017.

Lack of paul pogba is annoying.

Hopefully world cup decides next years. Think its apt to keep it at 5-5.

Predictable and deserved for Ronaldo. Glad that Modrić got so high.

But, that Hazard position (19 I think) is really laughable. Lewa should be also a little bit higher imo, brilliant year.

Gigi would have won it if he had won the Champions League.

    Mbappe's record from Jan-May 2017:

League: 12 goals and 5 assists in 1001 minutes
Champions League: 6 goals in 511 minutes (3 vs Dortmund, 2 vs City, 1 vs Juventus)

Very good for an 18-year-old. I watched a few of Monaco's games and he was that good.

Don't think Ronaldo would win this again, Messi would won at least one more. Despite all these awards being mostly non sense, the sheer drive and determination by Ronaldo to equal his rival's tally, who incidentally is a contender for GOAT, is something else.

The man has half the talent of Messi but 10 times the determination, I'm happy when people who work hard for something get their reward. Well done Ronaldo!

Agree with this, fairplay to Ronaldo. He's like a more talented Dirk Kuyt :)

I neither agree with him being half the talent of Messi nor with him having more determination than him.

Ronaldo during his time here and his first years with Madrid with a real talent, dribbling past players with ease and making fantastic tricks. He only changed his style to become what it's now when he lost his pace and most of his skills so have to compensate, but early on he was a fantastic talent and any Youtube video for him during his career here will prove this.

Also saying Messi has less determination than Ronaldo doesn't make any sense.

The difference between Messi and Chris is Chris lost his pace and skills early so has to compensate be being a great finisher, while Messi is still having all of his tricks till now.

Have a feeling this is the last time he is winning it... Can see Messi winning it though, once or twice

    Never underestimate Ronaldo.

Besides, 5 or 6 Times doesn’t really make much difference.

Even half the talent of Messi is enough for top football, I am convinced that Ronaldo has more determination than Messi, the man is driven it's easy for all to see. But no point discussing this anyways, all matter of opinions. I'm happy for his award, well deserved.
