The point is - i like him. he is like a child with special needs but i do like him.
yeah, but also you know that Graveson is just winding an almightly belter up thats gonna knock Robinho back into 1979
The definition of a legend seems to have been watered down over the years.
Right - so he splashes out £1000 for drinks then gives only £200 to the church?
He didn't really splash out on drinks for himself did he, he went to a pub and announced he was paying for everybodies drinks and then went to church and made a donation. Merry Christmas to all I say. He's a cockend at times but credit where it's due. He could just have easy gone to a posh place paid for his own drinks refused to talk to anyone and gone home.
What a dive.
Actually it would have been fine if he had splashed out 1000 on himself then gave 200 to church...but the irony is he decides to be "charitable" but his choice of charity was £1000 to the drinkers and £200 to the church...something wrong there!
Sounds good to me.
Not really, for 1 thing you don't know he's religious, I've been to church at Christmas and I'm not religious, any donation given should be respected, also the £1000 was devided between a lot of punters, it's not like he gave 1 person a grand and the church 5 times less, he paid for what looks like everybody in the pub and then gave the church more in one go than he effectively gave each punter in the pub. Also didn't he give a tramp a grand or something after he left the casino in Manchester opne night?
It's a sad time when people dissect donations and charitible acts and try to prioritise them or say someone should have given differently to how they did. It's still a charitible act whichever way you try to make it look.
So? Nothing wrong with what he did, I'm sure the locals in that pub would have appreciated the gesture immensely..he didn't have to do it.
Not sure about "Legend". He could be one and everybody loves hearing these stories but the tag is a bit premature.
That church is just around the corner from me. It is where Matt Busby's funeral was held.
Reportedly just paid for 24 homeless people to stay in the Hilton hotel for new year
If he also gives to regular charities then you can't really fault these random acts.
I do wonder what bs stories you could make up and get people believing when it comes to Balotelli though, nothing seems too outrageous.
Anyone care to give it a go?
Well its not sad given i was just taking the piss, i don't really care who and how much he gives, i was just pointing out the irony. Geez!
You are not wrong , it is in Wythenshawe on Peel Hall Road.
I live 10 mins away from it and never been in there.
Why go to that pub , its not like it is near anything?
Bet the Hilton love him right now....
I think he's incredibly over rated by some and can be irritating on the pitch but I'm starting to reqlly quite like him.
Legend , never
But you cant fault his generosity.
But could he of thought of a better ways to give a £1000 , could of given it to sick kids or an old folks home but his choice was to give it to a pub , who most of them would not have a clue who he was.
Seriously, I want to be best friends with him. He's a legend, the greatest of men.
From the Mirror:
yeah he should have given £1200 to the drinkers
Rumour started as a joke by a journo on twitter, poking fun at how these Ballotelli rumours spread.
Pretty much spread like wildfire after that.
so is it not true then ?
Like someone mentioned above, it's pretty easy to spread lies about Balotelli.
you never know with Balotelli , he is has made as a box of frogs
I should be a detective..
Are pro footballers forbidden from smoking or is it strongly suggested to them not to ?
Mario Balotelli, a Hilton hotel, New Years Eve and 24 tramps... - Sport Witness
Annie Eaves tweets makes me laugh -
Sophie-Ellis Bextor found headbutted to death in a former French footballer's apartment. Murder on Zidane's floor.
AC Milan's Zlatan Ibrahimovic says Carlos Tevez "would be an extra weapon" for his team. He ain't wrong there.
Its stupid for footballers to smoke. Its not exactly stressed by clubs, because its absolutely widespread and the players should realise it will only hinder their performances, but what can the clubs do? Its a habit, so its difficult for them to control. Virtually every club in the league has at least one player that smokes though.
As far as I'm aware, Rooney, Berbatov and Macheda are the only smokers in our team.
Oh I'm using that!
I tweeted that joke ages ago.

Balotelli is a leg end. I've called mates it for far less.
Is that you, Annie?
What d'you call a fish with no eyes?
Classic topical humour of an incident from 5 years ago and a song from 10 years ago (didn't realise it was that long!).
What has Sophie Ellis Bexter been up to lately anywho?
As far as the charity goes, it is not only ignorant, its insulting to suggest that he "should have donated more". Millions of people go their entire lives without making a single charitable contribution. Who am I to say how someone spends their own money, let alone how much they should give to charity.
He does needs to fix his attitude on the pitch though.
He needs a sitcom about him, would be the most random programme ever.
Has the story about him and the kid who was bullied at school been posted yet?

You just can't hate the guy. He seems to wander around aimlessly looking for entertainment.
Manchester City's Mario Balotelli visits local college to use toilet | Football | guardian.co.uk
According to ITV he paid for everyones petrol at a local garage a couple days ago as well.
That reads like something from the Onion.
