Doesn't give a feck? Can't get enough of being the centre of attention, more like.

I genuinely think he realises what a privaliged position he is in and a: likes to share with people and b: is determined to enjoy every second of it.

Some "highlights" from Samuel's latest. It is a good read.

Nah, I think he's the kinda guy that just does as he pleases, without any thought on whether its right/wrong or normal behaviour

I really detested this guy a while ago, now I can't bring myself to dislike him anymore. He seems to be a genuinly good craic, would love to be his friend.

    Isn't he?

Bizarre the way so many United fans seem to idolise him. He's an attention-seeking brat. Never happier than when he's creating a scene. Childish really.

And how do you know he does it for the attention rather than just being himself?

So is he now fluent in English or something? Most of these stories seem to have him having conversations with locals.

His "eccentricity" isn't exactly low-key, is it?

I really don't get why people lap it up, he managed to alienate everyone connected to Inter when he was there.

I'm sure he's not a bad bloke or anything, but he's a bit of a clown and he'd bore you. He seems like the kind of guy you'd take to initially, then he'd just get your nerves after a while.

'Hey, everyone! Look over here, I'm doing something crazy again!'

My argument still stands, his eccentricity might not be "low-key" in nature. Not defending him at all, just implying it is unfair to call him an attention-seeker without fully knowing him in person. Also, on would think that if he only does it for attention, he'd be out of the door earlier, as opposed to being a bubbly person.

To paraphrase yourself, "There was a lot of crazy footballers through the 70's or 80's who we all idolised so I find it hard to condone this behaviour of his".

When Cantona did and said some ridiculous things, was he not being incredibly self indulgent?

Eh? You're actually comparing Balotelli's antics to things that Cantona said/did? Seriously?

That's a wildly inaccurate paraphrase, right there, by the way.

Yep, Cantona has a brain. People are mistaking being a bit slow for charisma with Balotelli.

No doubt he's got attitude, arrogance and entertainment value. For what it's worth he's also the most likeable player at City.

I still think he's a twat but you gotta respect that he is an incredible talent, a childlike character who is living the dream and uses his position a bit more creatively than other super-rich athletes.

I don't think anyone's saying he's got charisma, a clown seems to be the general feeling. I think he's a mentalist, a proper kid in a sweet shop...it's as if hasn't grown up. He's fun from a huge distance.

I'd agree, funny from a distance. Not having anyone comparing him to Cantona though, it isn't the first time I've heard that one.

Starting to get boring now. At first you thought it was just Balotelli being Balotelli, but he's quite clearly doing it for the attention.

    Attention from who though?

The City fans adore him for it, so no wonder he wants to do his crazy shit so often. And I doubt his behaviour is about gaining publicity.

Hate the fecker. Bit of a twat. Way too much money which allows him to get away with all the attention seeking shit he does.

Overyhyped to top it all off.

Now I feel bad for judging the clown.

His home town is somewhere near Macclesfield. I doubt any top footballers in the past 30 years have lived in Hulme.
