He was on the sportsbar on talksport tonight, told a good story.

They were on about team lineups getting leaked and Crouch was asked how soon does he know if he's in the team or not etc.
He said that when Ben Thatcher was at City he got wind that Keegan was planning to drop him from the next game. Keegan used to announce his team about an hour and a half before a game so for a laugh, Thatcher got in early and got his kit on, shin pads the lot.
Keegan comes in and starts geeing the players up and the players are giving it back getting pumped up. He didn't notice Thatcher at first and ended up putting him on the bench. He wasn't even going to be in the squad.

I was half expecting the thread to be about Peter Crouch/team selection due to the first post. But that's a cool achievement by Crouch. @77 @FC Ronaldo

Love Peter Crouch, seems like a genuinely nice guy. He never takes himself too seriously and is always up for a joke, even at his expense.

Happy he got to a hundred!

I always liked his name. Very appropriate for the team photo.

How Heskey played ahead of him in the 2010 world cup was baffling. Has mostly been underrated.

    Nice story btw 77

Didn't realize Crouch had a healthy sense of humor about his appearance.

He's very self aware. I recall he was once asked what he'd be if he wasnt a footballer and he answered "a virgin, probably." He's a cool guy.

I've seen them from a distance, and among others of their size, so haven't really registered it. I mean I knew they were big but that's some dinosaur looking bastards there. Plus, you tend to think mostly about their long necks, so the rest kind of looks small in comparison. In absolute terms though, their bodies are massive.
