Shit source and a journo I've never heard of before but feck it!! Muppet season starts tomorrow!

I haven't seen Bonucci play last season, but I heard he had a difficult start to his Meelan career, although he got better in the second half of the season, thats according to another post I've seen on the caf.

    What say you caftards?

Even with one leg he is better than Smalling and Jones combined.

He's 31. One and a half feet in the grave already. Do not want.

Hell no. Bonucci is looking more like a QPR target. I actually thought he were older.

Didn’t he go to Milan because his son’s health was his main concern and wanted to stay in Italy? Aside from this being the Sun, unless that situation has changed, there won’t be anything in this will there?

Well he would certainly help us play out from the back which I think we've been lacking to be honest.

Don't want ageing defenders especially one that's not PL proven.

That’s true, he’s good on the ball, but out of the juve defence he’s actually looked a pretty weak defender.

That I don't understand. I mean he was fecking class at one point for Juve. Granted it was beside 2 rocks but surely he's better than Smalling and Jones.

So I'm guessing you don't want Sandro given his season at Juvenuts then?

    Lol what?

I don't doubt his class but PL is a different ball game especially since he's 31. He would have lost a lot of pace. We're already the slowest team in transition among the top 6.

There is a difference here, bonucci left of his own accord and played poorly, Sandro didn’t get his move and hasn’t been the same since.

Honestly, anytime I've seen him play, all I noticed was how exquisite his distribution was. Never actually payed that much attention to his positioning etc.. you know his defensive attributes..

So if true, Sandro has an unprofessional mentality and will adversely perform if displeased.

    Thanks

He's 51 now, too old, will hamper Jones Smalling progression.

The story was first reported yesterday by Tuttosport (another shit source).

Tuttosport said If Bonucci were to move on, Milan would need to make a profit, having paid €42m to sign him from Juventus only a year ago.
So if Tuttosport are to be believed, Milan would ask for +€50m.

Dunno. Don't follow Juve so I've no idea how Alex Sandro has been last season. I don't have an opinion on us being after him.

De Ligt > Bonucci or Alderweireld. Am i doing this right? It'd be a great signing. If you want a younger option there's always his partner Romagnoli to look at as well, he's had a great season.

You're another football connoisseur, have you been watching him much? If he was to sign would he do well in PL and specifically at United?

Would rather spend the extra couple of million on Toby Alderweireld.

I'd rather go for Alderweireld if only for already being settled in the league & the very small age difference. But as long as we work on our alternatives in midfield and on our fullback spots I'll be happy with any other good additions to the squad.

Make no sense when relating transiting to a CB's pace. I meant CBs very rare to dribble further forward, breaking lines. It's the ability to pass the ball, compose under pressure, decision making... that helps with transitioning. Barzagli, Hummel, Godin, Pique, John Terry... ain't exact speed merchant to begin with yet they're perfectly fine playing out from the back and help transitioning throughout their career.

So in that sense of helping transition, Bonucci is very fine. Defensive physicality is a concern of course.

The game has transitioned. We need fast players in general. When we get hit on the counter by teams, our CBs could well be out of position and they would need to be quick. The point I'm trying to make is that we need to get quick players in general. He's not a guaranteed success in the PL like you're making it seem. He had a terrible season with Milan. So what's your basis of proposing that we would be good for us?

Spending 40 odd million who may or may not work is not something I'm up for. The board might as well contribute that amount to the 'Common Goal' charity

    He was quality for sure.
Like people say though, there is that massive nag that he might find the pace tough to deal with.
We're not talking to Blanc levels, but still enough to worry.

Aye but you've seen him play at Juve? Thought he looked very comfortable beside Barzagli and Chiellini. But then again -- who wouldn't?

Fast players we do have plenty. The ability to act quick,, being composed, have vision to pick the right decision is at least as important than running fast.. The game hasn't change from few years ago, not as when Pep Guardiola's Barcelona broke the scene.

If you're good positioning to begin with then you don't need to be rapid to get back into position.

Where did I said he would be a guaranteed success (?) other than pointing out then pacy CB = CB good at transiting nonsense? Also 40mil odd is nothing in this market. Tottenham spent 40mil for Sanchez last summer and he's no where established enough, and still showed that he's long way from being an end product.

Edit: Also AC Milan is terrible, but is he as individual?

No more italian defenders, thank you very much. Let them stay at Serie A where its system suits them the best.
@ti vu oh yes he was also part of that problems. most Milan's fan disliked him for the fact he was instantly being made as captain ahead of other senior players and series of blunders throughout the season.

Hilarious how Bonucci goes from being one of the best in the world to Do no want in 12 months.
