Here's the celebration that caused the controversy (Vinicius Jr got booked for it)

Seems a bit over the top to me - first of all the booking and then for Botafogo to not allow their stadium be used for the final because of it.

There's a clip at the bottom of the post. He did a 'crybaby' celebration, resulting in Botafogo acting like crybabies. Bit ironic.

That is an extreme decision from Botafogo

Is there any event occured previously that triggers this reaction on “crying” celebratiob?

So why all the uproar about it then? Seems a bit petty to me...

Ridiculous overreaction. Why did Vinicius aim a crybaby celebration at their fans in the first place though? Just because it was 3-0?

Is that the player Real pay 40mil at the age of 16? Why he did that celebration?

Yeah...how does any scout assess any players there with that standard of defending?

Your going to be looking more specifically at technique, work rate etc rather than simply stats on a sheet.

I guess but this is my point. What can you make of his technique above with this shot when most decent players can do that without any pressure on them?

I am just saying it must be difficult to say how good somebody is and how they are going to be able to translate it on to the Premier League or la liga..

Oh no doubt, Id say most South American imports fail. Most come to the bigger leagues via Portugal and other lower nations, so there is a filter to kind of weed out the weaker ones. Of course there are some direct successes, like Jesus and Oscar.

Not sure. Think it was because of them knocking Botafogo out and Botafogo are their rivals - bit like Neville's celebration against Liverpool but not as dramatic.

His international record for the Brazil youth teams was great. I assume the defending there is a bit better.

In the semi final of the cup, Vinicius Jr scored against Botafogo and made that celebration. He got booked for the celebration and Botafogo then said that the final of the cup couldn't be played in their stadium because of it.

Basically they don't want a derby rival team to lift the cup in their home stadium :D

I guess if the Adeyabor slide happened in South America a war would have started.

It was the last seconds of the game, and Botafogo needed 3 goals. The players basically gave up

I suppose they use more than 10 seconds of a video clip. Would have them over for trials etc. A lot more goes into scouting than just simply looking at them scoring / assisting or doing tricks to beat players. Which is what we mostly see. A lot of Brazilians fail and fail miserably in Europe.
