So Man United have hired Statman Dave (his own channel and Full Time Devils) to produce vids for the channel. His first one was about the win against Leicester.

Dalot is on this version so it's worthy to be highlighted. Is it a regular thing for Porto players to learn foreign languages?

Id say they take english in school and seeing as he has just left school he would be pretty well versed in it

Portuguese people learn it in school, dont think it has to do with Porto. Look at Bernardo, he speaks it also well

I only ask because I'm wondering if it's encouraged for the guys in English academies versus Portuguese ones for them to learn at school.

Doesn't almost everyone learn how to speak English (or/and French) at school?

Yeah virtually every European country teaches English as a required subject at some point. The quality of the education usually makes a difference, some countries are better than others.

Really interesting this. Is that a new thing that a club's channel is having tactical analysis or have other clubs been doing this before?

Also what happens when United has some weaker games, is he allowed to criticize the players / tactics / manager?

I've seen a few of this guy's videos before and they are pretty good. Well thought and presented, not AFTV style rants etc.

Far from it. Who also learns a language just by going to school as a kid? I learned English my playing video games and watching cartoons. By the time the school started to teach me I was already fluent.

This  I’d be shocked at a 19 year old lad with a lesser command of English than Dalot.

It was interesting to see Dalot display his intelligence there. He always takes the ‘what would I hate to defend myself’ approach that I wish Shaw does as well. A lot of the balls that Shaw attempts to put in the box seem half assed and lack the conviction and intelligence Dalot has.

I actually like Statman Dave so good on him for getting the job. Bit of a gimp look about him but he talks sense.

Yea me two. Benelux and Nordic countries take English studies more seriously that others. You have to consider that our TV isn't dubbed whilst people in Poland, Germany, Spain etc grew up with practically no English in TV or movies. I think that I'm correct when I say that Spain stopped dubbing so much very recently for the very specific reason that the people would get better at English.

Were you shocked by young Ronaldo's English? :nervous:

I'll see myself out before I get stoned for blasphemy.

Here (in Serbia) you get to choose first foreign language in the 3rd grade of elementary school (9 y of age) then you get to choose the second language in the 5th grade (11 y of age). You can choose from Russian, English, German, French, Spanish and think they added some others recently as well.

I’ll never take a word he says seriously as I remember him putting Darren Fletcher in his all time Man United 11.
