Chelsea have to play Spurs, us and Newcastle. They will definitely drop points but form is on their side.

6 points with 5 games to go and here`s panic :lol::lol:

    It`s actually a fantastic position.

I hope that this thread won't come back and haunt us, Brad. It's not over and I've seen clubs losing it in the last minutes. I personally don't think Arsenal have the experience and mental strength to come back from this but you can never know until the win is mathematically secured.

Anyway, don't worry about the title race, I have money on Chelsea and I don't think a single bet has come off this season. Infact I'm claiming full responsibilty for Arsenals recent calapse

I think there's still points to be dropped. I suspect we'll have to beat either Arsenal or Chelsea.

We're not playing well enough to categorically say that we will beat Everton, Blackburn and Blackpool, never mind beating Arsenal or Chelsea.

I'm not claiming its over to be fair, otherwise I'd be drinking the champagne now!

Arsenal have gone, I could (and did) tell you that weeks ago. Chelsea are the only viable threat, and they've been so far back, it really would take a feck up of epic proportions from us, beyond anything before, including 92

    There's hardly panic, is there?

With a 6 point lead we have to play our two main rivals who will know they have to win to stay in the title race. It's hardly unthinkable that we might lose one or both. Not to mention having to play two legs of a CL semi final in the middle of it all. We're obviously favourites but two bad games could be enough.

Win Everton, Blackburn/pool and we're there.. that'll keep the goal difference in balance if we go and lose both Arsenal and Chelski..

We're in a great position but with some pretty fecking big obstacles in our way to the finish line.

Far too early for talk of Champagne.

We've beat Arsenal and Chelsea the past two times we've played both, I have a hard time imagining we'll lose both upcoming games, especially since one is at OT. It reminds me of when Chelsea ran away with those couple of titles and we kept clutching at straws how we'd catch them because we still had to play them. I think we'll win the league by a few points at least.

With Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea to play, I would call it cautious nervousness rather than panic..

Yeah, they have to go to Bolton, Stoke and Fulham. They're almost certain to drop points across those games.

Chelsea have a very winnable run in though.

Not necesarily - all else being equal, if we lose to both Arsenal and Chelsea by one goal, the advantage over Chelsea is down to just 1 GD. Basically, it's still too close to call on GD between us and Chelsea (who must now count as our main rivals, given their run-in).

Christ, reading some of the comments in the Arsenal/Chelsea match threads from tonight you'd think we were the ones doing the chasing.

We're 6 points clear at the top of the table with 5 games left and we still have to play both the teams chasing us. That works to our advantage as well.

Thankfully I'm confident that the squad of players we have has a bit more intestinal fortitude than some of yous lot otheriwse we won't win dick.

It's number 19 if we don't lose against both Arsenal and Chelsea. Draw is fine.

I don't think it'll be that easy for them. They haven't managed to string 4 wins together in the League since September, so to win 5 games - including one away to United - on the run is a big ask.

OK.. But I think we'll score the necessary goals against Everton and Blackburn and make it clear before the last day..

Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea are three very difficult fixtures, and Blackburn away won't be easy either. I'm afraid that we won't be as fresh as our rivals.

Premature thread. Draw/lose vs Everton and the situation would look very different.

We have dropped, what, two points at home all season? I am confident we'll beat Everton and gain at least a draw against Chelski. Probably. :nervous:

Let's not forget, Chelsea and Arsenal don't have the distraction of Europe and the expenditure of energy and emotion that'll go into that. That's a huge factor. We need to get some momentum back quickly. Saturday will be tough, but I'm glad to get back to home comforts.

At home....yep. Spurs are aiming for a top 4 finish, they'll make it tough. Games aren't played on paper though....I expect all three teams to drop more points. And it's not as if Chelsea are all that special either.

They've drawn with Everton twice this season already, home and away.

They'll probably beat Spurs but you never know.

I rather hope we don't get to the final day when we need Chelsea to drop points. If we do, we've let ourselves down big time.

As long as we get the win on Saturday to set us up nicely for the next two games against Arsenal and Chelsea. It's absolutely vital we get back with a win against Everton.

If we get that win, then don't lose to either Arse or Chelsea, then I'd say it's done. But we must do it, otherwise the last few games will be squeaky bum time.
