Don't know why people are not even giving a sniff of a chance for Chelsea.. i don't think Barca will be as dominant as some people think on here. Chelsea seem to up their game for Barca when ever they play.

Because they're realistic about how good Chelsea are at the moment and don't leave three years in the past.

All logic dictates that Chelsea will get a kicking, they really haven't been playing much better under di Matteo despite their flattering results. Yet in a one-off game anything can happen - if Drogba reprises that goal v Spurs, they get a couple of lucky reffing calls (again)...

The last game between these sides was a fecking disgrace. I just want a bit of justice for them.

But some people seem to believe Barca will win at a canter, which certainly wont be the case.

    I am going for a 2-2 tonight

I can see Chelsea giving them a decent game tonight on their own patch, but over the two legs they've got no chance in my eyes.

Barca will think about Madrid, 2 goals will be enough for them to progress further.

Really looking forward to this. This Chelsea side don't have a backbone(despite Saturdays result) The amount of times, Wigan and ten man Benfica got through them was alarming. I think this could get nasty very quickly.

Frank Lampard has been reported on BBC that the game is all about containing Messi... LOL ... The team talk is all about Messi at Stamford Bridge then...

Since this thread has now generated 4 pages already on a non United game/topic, I am sure most on here are very concerned about this game and Messi. I wonder and want to ask how people who does play competitive football think:

    1. Would you rather play with Messi in the same team (learning from his talent et al, but surely having him stolen all the limelight in every single game) or

    2. Play against him and accept all the challenges you can name on planet earth (still can learn from playing opposite him for sure, and with the additional benefit of making a name if only even once you are able to nutmeg him and stop him from scoring etc)

    :)

It said on the news that Chelsea are aiming to make snuffing out Messi their top priority. I hope JT is tasked to deal with Messi. It will be hilarious to see him continually being skinned

Who reveals their tactics to the press?

I recall Van Persie making a fool out of Terry at the Bridge last year, imagine Messi instead...

It's great to play with players better than you, they make it easier if you can pass the ball and you always think 'we're not out of this' yet even if you go one or two behind. I played in a team with a guy who was a class above and we won lots of games despite being a worse team man-for-man. I was never jealous of his talent just pleased to be on the same side.

Can't see Chelsea scoring unless they get lucky (and find a way to get the ball).

Chelsea will win 1-0. The media will hail the 11 heroes and Di Matteo will be a legend for inventing the formula to beat Barca. They will lose 3-0 in the return leg.

Flawless tactics. This is why these guys are paid the big bucks and we're just sat discussing the game on the internet. If I were managing Chelsea I would have fielded 9 players and had them all play whilst standing on their heads. But that's why I'm not a Premier League manager I guess. Oh well, live and learn.

Suprised Pique does not play, is he injured?

Drogba starting is a good choice given how well he played against Spurs.

Massive plus that Kalou is not starting, if they are official lineups.

Defensive line up from Chelsea but sensible; gotta pack the midfield and harrass, bully and stifle the Barca CMs.

Guardiola probably anticipated that, very flexible formation from Barcelona. They could switch between 433, 343 and 352 at any given point, depending on the flow of the game.

Last time Chelsea played Barcelona, United were the best team in the world. We didn't know how good we had it :(

Maybe he can pull a goal out of nowhere like the first one last weekend. I think Chelsea might sneak a draw here. Then a thrashing at the camp nou.

    Why?

Barcelona are a proper club with history who play great football.

Chelsea are a side built with Russian money without great history who have mostly played dull football in the last decade.
