I had thought we shared a common ancestor with chimps, rather than being descended from them?

I was just at a community cafe. There was a kid there with some sort of disability and he looked sounded and acted chimp like. He kept arching his back and grunting and screeching at the ceiling Planet of the Apes style. Watching him I thought what a thin line there is between us and our chimp friends.

feck me he was a handful and his mum looked utterly overwhelmed. Put me off my cottage pie as well the noisy little bastard.

    From that article I posted

Goodall was shocked by the brutality of the attacks. She described the invaders "cupping the victim's head as he lay bleeding with blood pouring from his nose and drinking the blood, twisting a limb, tearing pieces of skin with their teeth…"

Specifically of Chimps they had literally socialised closely with relatively recently. They're fecking monsters really. No animal scares me more than a chimp. They'll, literally, rip your face and balls off for the shit and giggles.

Isn't the word people exclusive to homo sapiens? What does the word people actually mean?

    From the article.

Not that there doesn't exist a ton of discussion on what the word mean. Saying it means homo sapiens is troubling for some because they want it to mean certain characteristics instead of just a species, but all those arguments can be claimed invalid since some animals have those characteristics while some humans don't (like rationality, self-awareness, autonomy etc).

I don't feel sufficiently educated to discuss the nuances of the debate, but they look as if they enjoy a nice cup of tea. That's good enough for me.

It's funny how Bonobos are busy fingering each other and banging anything in reach in one giant endless orgy, and Chimps are busy fingering each others eye balls as they scoop them out to eat them, between gang rape sessions and organized murder.
