Didn't know where to put this, but some interesting stuff on some French players when they were playing at youth level.

The Martial bit is entirely believable, he sometimes feels like a space cadet floating through games despite his enormous ability.

I have been saying for a while that Lyon has arguably had the most successful academy the last few years. With Tolisso moving to Bayern, Umtiti moving to Barcelona and Lacazette moving to Arsenal in recent years. Fekir is going to go for big money soon and Houssem Aouar is looking like a future star.

Interesting bit about Martial & Lacazette and very believable stuff about Ben Arfa (based on the very little I know/perceive about him).

Would be harsh to judge Martial's intelligence based on how he did as a kid, people change. It's not as if we can judge his intelligence sitting in our chairs (unlike say Arfa's example of douchebaggery, which we can see often on the pitch).

As much as I love Martial, his poor school record and the so called "lack of professionalism" could be related to lack of motivation, and that's arguably also something we could often see on the pitch.

I seem to remember a year where most of Lyon's players failed to graduate while ASSE had a 100% record.

Says he has a UEFA B licence and all of these players were Lyon youth players so I dont think he’s just making it up.
