Yep, some take this tribal football loyalty too seriously. It isn't that important a life issue, the clubs won't be handing out medals for your tough guy loyalty.

Not enough is being made of the farcical precedent of moving a continental club final outside of said continent.

Fine if they can't host the final in Buenos Aires. You can't find another stadium in the entire fecking region or continent?

Boca should agree. But given how useless the situation has been they probably won't.

Imagine if Barca-Madrid reached the finals, and UEFA changed the final dates out of the blue. They did this in CONMEBOL and it was seen as natural. That was the first shady thing happening, a final was set in stone in the calendar for 4 months and they moved it to the weekend to get TV money.

Just play it in Asuncion, Montevideo or Lima FFS

    I agree.

Montevideo, Uruguay is a 45 min flight away, and has a 60000+ stadium. They could play it there. Lots of other options too.

Yeah, the most logical thing would be the Centenario

Good on RP. It’s a farcical decision to play it in Spain.

I'm all for a zero tolerance policy towards clubs whose fans misbehave, I think it's the only way things will go forward in those areas, but playing the game in Madrid looks a very poor solution. The organizers seem to profit, in comparison to the other more logical solutions, and that paints them in a very bad light.

I have no simpathy towards savage behaviour. The last time I went to a football game live was in 2005. Shortly after, I was beaten by a group of dozens of ultras from my own club (trying to help friends in rivals colours). I was very fortunate to not be seriously injured. I chose to never again set foot on my stadium until those people are kicked from there, which will never happen. Every time I see them do something bad, regardless of their target, I just wished a 3-0 defeat was imposed on my club.

If they play this final outside of South America it won't take that long until UEFA makes it happen.

A barra (hooligan) from Boca has been deported in the airport, but apparently the boss,Di Zeo is travelling, although he can't be in the stadium.
River celebration would be in Cibeles(Madrid) and Boca in Neptuno (Atleti)

Is it just me or it's silly Argentina can't organize a bus trip to Monumental properly so they need to play somewhere else?

Any player actually came back who would have been injured otherwise? Pavon is the only one?

I hope Pratto does well. River fans were treating him like shit, but he almost single handedly kept them in the Copa.

Good that isn't played locally. All big finals should be in Europe.

Don’t see Tevez’s name in the lineup. Perhaps he is a sub?

Would love to see Gago. Was one of my favorite players in his younger years, shame he couldn‘t catch a break with injuries.

Really looking forward to this. The first game was a cracker. Hopefully no crowd trouble and lots of on pitch events.

Huge opportunity missed not having Moss as a referee.

Any players to especially keep an eye on? Other than Tevez I don’t think I know anyone else in the squads.

Each to their own, not a patch on what the Monumental can deliver. Empty seats everywhere too.

It may not be as good as the Monumental, but it's better than what I expected.

The match has been quite physical so far. Neither team is able to play football with the number of challenges being thrown out.
