I think they're on their way. They have reached a level that no English team has done before IMO.

Would have to do it for two years+ with trophies to show for it, not just two months+.

I reckon they can finally win the quadruple this year that they have deserved every year!

They're looking great... but it's been 9 games. You'd feel a prat declaring that about a United side at the same point in the season. Even teams who would go on to win trebles.

Our 2008 team would beat them easily.

Without a doubt. They could be ranked up there with the Arsenal unbeaten side. However they will ultimately be judged on results.

I think the PL is theirs;we can't stop them. But the UCL is where they need to really make a mark. Everything suggests that they can; Barca have been beaten and without Dembele look a little short in attack, RM are not the force,PSG? Possible. We're nowhere near good enough

That team was great. At that time it felt like we could never fall but those times pass by faster than you'd think. I miss us being THAT good:(

Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Vidic, Evra, Ferdinand, Scholes, Van der Sar.

Just the eight legendary players in the starting eleven.

City are no where near this level.

They've won nothing yet ffs. If they can match our treble and dominate the premier league for years like a few of our past teams have done, then yeah sure, let's have a discussion. But until then don't be bloody stupid.

07-09 United still more well rounded. More compact in defense and just as good going forward. Not to mention, no one in the current City team is at the level of 07-09 C.Ronaldo who could win matches on his own.

I don't know whether people are just being sarcastic, we're just in November and you're crowning them champions?

They're not the best side until they can put trophies on the table at the end of the season.

Its a mark of how crazy this forum has been that so many can't detect the sarcasm in the OP. (Or maybe everyone's taking the piss themselves)

So they've reached the level of winning a treble? Winning three consecutive league titles on more than one occasion? Reaching three champions league finals in 4 years? I think you need to stop smoking whatever you're on.

I think eventually, they’ll become more significant than Jesus and in 2000 years time humanity will worship the great men from the blue moon who saved us all from Jose the Deceiver.

They're probably the best in an absolute sense, i.e. that they would likely beat the previous great sides, with the exception of our 08 team, due to advances in sports science, i.e. the diet of a footballer (except for Rooney) no longer consists of chips and alcohol. To be judged as the greatest side of all time, they need to actually win goblets and with the amount of money spread between clubs in the Premier League and Europe these days, it's very unlikely you're going to have one team dominating in the same way that United dominated English football. No team has dominated European football for about 60 years.
