Now that France has won, I think I am supporting England for the Banter World Cup Final

2-1 England I think. Obviously a penalty or corner as one of the goals.

We'll scrape past Croatia and get beat by France, probably. Southgate's tactical loss to Belgium to get us an easy route through to our best WC finish in ages can't be underestimated. Genius. Knight him. Rashford's "miss" as well. Great stuff.

Not as nervous as I was for the Sweden game. Whatever happens happens. We've done bloody well, and can look back with nothing but pride at our performance.

What's your predicted team for tomorrow mate? Read Vrsjalko is desperate to play but Delic only plays fully fit players. Seems Vida still being investigated for his celebrations so don't know if he's in danger of being banned.

Said it before but if I was Croatia I'd play all four midfielders to try to suffocate England in the middle and get them to hit long aimless balls up to Kane. Have Perisic in a free role off Mandzukic. Rebic and Kramaric as fresh second half subs.

Vrsaljko is 50-50. So if he will not play then it will be:
    Subasic
    Vida corluka lovren strinic
    Brozovic or badelj
    Rakitic- modric
    Perisic mandukic rebic.

If vrsaljko is out it is huge thing because then we must brake back duo lovren- vida who were great this wc. With 433 and oppo who wants to play, we will play on quick transition on wingers. But your corners are scaring me a lot. I don't see how we will stop that

Honestly don't think this will be much of a contest, expecting England to win fairly comfortably. Croatia struggled to defend set pieces the other and looked physically destroyed. Think they'll probably push the boat and hope to beat us in normal time but imo I think the longer the game goes on the more they'll struggle against us as fatigue sets in.

    Feeling oddly confident.

No idea about this one like the match tonight. England favourites, especially with a striker like Kane in their side.

Set pieces will be key to any potential England victory. The challenge will be getting on the ball enough to get those set pieces. Reasonably confident though if we can counter well to win plenty of corners and free kicks.

Hoping for Croatia but think England will do it. Croatia have more quality in the team overall IMO, but the way both play, its set up for a tight game with a set piece winning it for England I think. As good as Modric and Rakitic are, my concern is always that theyre too similar and you cant get the perfect balance with their attacking players. Too reliant on crosses despite the midfield which England should deal with you would think.

Anyway, reckon France will be the winner regardless of who they play. Still a huge achievement for either being runner up and in a one off game, you never know.

Can't believe how overconfident the pundits have become!! I think it'll be a very difficult game and we'll need a bit of luck to go through but irrespective of what happens, I think England have done well this summer.

I honestly think whoever wins this one will cause a shock a win the World Cup. Can see France bottling it again like they did 2 years ago.

I'm a bit nervous for that reason. We have reverted back to how we felt with teams during the so called golden generation due to surpassing expectations going into the tournament. I do think that we have enough to get over the line due to Croatia going to extra time in their games so far but it's going to be bloody tense. We need to score in the first half and be ahead by half time to settle some nerves. Will be tough though. I feel sick already.

Can't you just play Jedvaj and leave Vida-Lovren combo together? Guy's played loads of times for Leverkusen so can deal with physical/quick players.

Lovren has a mistake in him..

If we press them and give them no time in the midfield think we can do it.

Lovren has a terrible record with Kane too. Walker has been sloppy at times for England but think they are a better unit. They have been caught when trying to implement playing out from the back more than anything else.

Yeah there is that. Still think he's been one of the better centre backs in the tournament though (despite his rep).

That's what i would do. Jedvaj has been decimated with injuries and is no stranger to silly mistakes but can be world class on his day. Corluka is not in top form either and being slow as feck plays into English strengths perfectly. Also, breaking the CD pairing in the semi final is just stupid.

I was waiting for a "Lovren feckup"™ the entire tourney. He made one against Denmark and we lived through it, so i'm good :wenger:

I'm so excited about this; but equally I'm a massive pessimist when it comes to football; both with England and United.
I just feel like it's too good to be true. The Croatians are confident they can win this one too and it makes me nervous.
I genuinely think we'll either lose a narrow 1-0 where we don't create much or win by 2 or 3 after an early goal. No inbetween.

    p.s. it's coming home
