A great start to the season defensively and finally De Gea looks as if he is finally in the mix to scoop his first Golden Glove!

I am really surprised he hasn’t got one already, really deserves it so let’s hope the season carries on how it has defensively. Maybe not the same as Watford and Huddersfield (I think it was).

Since the Premier League began Cech has the best clean sheets in one season with 24 back in 2004/2005 season. De Gea is currently on track for equally even breaking that record.

Goes without saying, early days but let’s see how this shapes in the next few games.

As Rawkian a thread as I've ever seen. Where is the poetry and the biblical fan fiction?

On a serious note fair play DDG, but the only reason I'd want one of these is that it would hopefully mean we're not conceding many goals and winning matches.

Just makes me even more annoyed that we conceded last night tbh.

Hope DDG gets it, he truly does deserve awards.

How is this anything like a RAWK thread? Is it really that embarrassing to give recognition to your goalkeeper who has the highest clean sheets in the league? Never won a Golden Glove before which for De Gea or any goalkeeper is a great achievement.

Of course it’s only November and we have only played 14 games, I know that.

If there is a problem with me keeping track of accolades that players could potentially win then I must be in the wrong place, I thought this was a forum that supports the club AND players, not just people who support 3 points in the board.

I agree. Been the best keeper in the world for 3 seasons, Posibbly 4 now in my opinion. I think he deserves his so I hope we carry on doing what we have been defensively.

Is there really any difference with me posting about this and everyone posting about the title race? Yes, the title race is more significant but does it still mean we shouldn’t be posting about how far adrift we are from City until the very end of the season. I mean come on, we are only 14 games in

Sorry I was just joking about the time a few years back that Golden Gloves became a bit of a trope on RAWK after Pepe Reina won a few. They were once linking their very own Mignolet with the honour:

That's what a few years without silverware can do so I was surprised to see it mentioned on here

As I said in seriousness it would be fine for De Gea to get some personal recognition but more importantly the award would suggest we're not conceding many goals and therefore doing well (at one end of the pitch at least).

Oh, I didn’t realise about the whole RAWK thing.

Was only trying to give a player some praise even if it is early on. Don’t think there is any harm in that, just something I am interested in.

Seems his forum is full of people trying to embarrass other posters one way or another. I’m sure I will soon be a regular target for it after this so I will keep my posts and thread minimal

I don’t mean you personally by the way.

No worries mate. I suppose it shows how out of fashion praising our own players has got that we're having the conversation at all, but I agree if you can't praise DDG who the hell can you praise?!

I can understand people posting constructive things and opinions but not those that are intentionally trying to mock another person in order to make them look better than what they probably are away from a keyboard. It’s bizarre to me for someone to go out of their way in order to try and get a good reaction at another’s expense. Had a bad day so sorry if I have come across as rude to anyone ;)

Most surprising fact is he hasn't won one before. Also people who are saying it's early days, OP literally adresses that in the main post, no issue with discussing this at this stage.

There's nothing wrong with highlighting Dave is having a season that might finally get him deserved individual honours. I sure hadn't thought about that (or him never getting it, which is bizarre).

It's just herd mentality. Where we used to have a crap thread poster, someone who complained about it, a rival team lover, a true red who wouldn't have it, someone hating a specific player... now we just have tribes with hundreds of each sample, mostly inarticulate posers, and instead of discussions it turns into a bunch of people e-shouting louder than each other.
