Juventus dont need him and should be willing to sell. We do need a RW. It depends on what we want to prioritize in January. If we can somehow sign Alderweireld early and ship Jones/Rojo out. Then it would be a good option to focus on signing Costa. He can be inconsistent but he is better than what we currently have.

Question is if we do any business without a permanent manager on. Might be very quiet in the January transfer window.

Wouldn't say that, not from what I've seen of him anyway.

Seems a menace on the ball (incredible dribbling) and a good creative wide player. Certainly not just a kick and run type of player.

I'd take him for a reasonable fee, we need somebody on the RW, his age will allow us to ease in the likes of Chong/Gomes in the coming years also.

No, but he is horribly inconsistent. Have looked like the best player at Bayern and Juve only to be benched in a few months.

He takes defenders on which is always a good thing.

However I think Zaha would be the perfect RW for us.

He’s tailor made for United - should’ve been playing for us years ago.

Does he play on the right? At the very least he’ll give us some balance. He’s the sort of signing I’d have thought Mourinho would have made earlier in his stint here, really.

Ideally we shouldn’t sign anyone until we have our new permanent manager in the summer. And we probably won’t.

It's all just rumours, but I think he'd be perfect for us. Quick, likes to play on the right, can go wide and cut inside. We rely far far too much on our left hand side. I think he'd be a no brainer.

I know it's very unlikely, but him and Alderwierld would be perfect signings in this window. They might not change much this season, but would defintely be ready to hit the ground running next season.

I am against buying too many older players but I'd take him at a decent price no question. Doesn't even look close to losing any pace. The reason he's not playing imo, doesn't have much to do with his performances. Cuadrado and Madzukic provide a more balanced team for Allegri, who imo is quite a defensive coach. Ronaldo and Dybala, to an extent not having any defensive responsibilities, have meant he can't play much.
I am not sure of a better RW we could buy. I also think he could be essential for the way Ole supposedly likes to play. I really can't see any downsides to this deal.
Anyway, isn't SB quoting the Sun?

In my opinion overrated, not getting any younger and won't improve. We've already got a player just like that, so it's only right we should see how Sanchez gets on under a new manager.

We lack dribblers who can take men on which this guy does in abundance. Him and martial on each wing would cause many team problems.

This, his fall from grace at Bayern especially was really quite something. Juve I can cut him a little slack given he's competing against Ronaldo and Dybala

Dont want him here, would rather try and prise Dembele away from Barca

He's nothing special and especially when played on the RW, his best work comes on the LW when he can put crosses in quickly on his natural foot, that is the spot where we deploy our best two young attackers, it would be a nonsense buy. We shouldn't be buying in January, lets see what we get out of this set of attackers in a different system over the rest of the season.

Wouldnt mind him for a decent fee and 3 year contract max, explosive and on his day incredible. He is inconsistent, but has everything you want from a winger

Martial and Rashford they aren't wingers . They're strikers. Costa could play either left or right but right is better if we're going to play the 4-3-3. Upgrade on both Mata and Lingard

Yes, I think so. I'd definitely take him though. I feel like he's very underrated on here.

Imo, he has far more about him than Lucas. Although Lucas is fast, I don't think he's in the same universe as Costa in one on one situations. Also much better at striking the ball.
We aren't signing Dembele and he's streets ahead of Zaha. I can't see us buying a better RW. Unless we sign an unknown who turns out to be a revelation.

He's a decent player but the spitting incident has made me dislike the guy. Don't want another grumpy inconsistent player on our hands.

At the right price he would be a great buy. Certainly not worth more than £40-50m even in today's mad market.

Knowing Juventus, they'll quote us £100m.

Offer Juve peanuts like they did with Darmian, then end up buying Sancho.

Juve are a bastard to deal with in the transfer market.

He can't get ahead of Cuadrado in the Juve team, yes? Anyone genuinely knows why? And i don't rate Cuadrado myself

He's overrated on the caf and basically nowhere else it seems. Terrible consistency and poor end product for the amount of hype he's gotten on here over the years

He's alright but nothing special. Regardless, I'd hope we leave January well alone, pointless signing players the new people may not even want. If we get their advice behind the scenes then fair enough but a big no to Ole and Ed going on a shopping spree.

Dybala and Ronaldo have very little defensive responsibility. That's basically the summary.
So it's either Mandzukic or Cuadrado.

I have seen him play a lot and do not want him. For our RW I want someone younger with more room for improvement. Douglas Costa is 28 and there isn't really any potential in him to become better than he already is.There is a reason Bayern didn't want him, bad attitude, incredibly inconcistent and his end product is far from impressive. We would be better of putting Sanchez at RW.

Not at all amol. Pace to burn for sure, but he’s got great technique/dribbling ability. One of my favorite players actually - ever since I watch him for Bayern vs Arsenal a few years ago.

Quite inconsistent though, as mentioned above and he can also be a bit of a hot head. Would be a very good winger for us though, considering we barely have any natural wide players. And he can play on either wing iirc.

He's exactly what United need in a winger, his dribbling and crossing abilities from the right wing reminds me of Robben in his prime.

I don't understand - why didn't we go for him when he was at Bayern..
