Maguire, Rose, Maddison and Mount are injured.

    Delighted for Wilson :)

I still don't understand why Delph is always in the squad :houllier:

Can't believe Wayne Rooney is taking the place of someone who deserves a place in the squad like Calum Wil...

    Oh wait.

Lewis Dunk is a good CB. I like him.

Shame there's still no call up for Lewis Cook.

Room for another forward with the Welbeck injury. Maybe Reiss Nelson will be bumped up from under 21s.

I dont follow England that closely, but don’t Lascelles and Wan-Bissaka deserve a call up?

There is Walker, Trippier, Gomez and Alexander-Arnold for the right back position in the squad already. Wan-Bissaka is first choice RB for the 21s. England have a crazy amount of talent coming through in that one position with Laird, James and Lamptey all looking excellent in some of the younger age groups.

Lascelles is supposedly rubbish on the ball so Southgate won’t call him up.

It’s not even a real international break. It’s a fecking not-a-testimonial-actually-a-charity-match-but-nobody-sure-where-charity-will-get-money-from. Bit of a mouthful, might not catch on.

Middle of the season, and we’re running sport aid ffs. For a player who basically was disgraced out of the national side but it’s been long enough to forget that apparently.

I’d we can get a win in the derby, I think the timing is perfect. Especially after last night.

We can then have a break and come back and almost start our season, with ‘winnable’ games ahead.

If Wayne scores a hat trick against the USA, are we keeping him for Croatia, or is this really the end?

Well that should put to rest the idea that Rooney is ruining a "serious" game...

What's the situation in the nations league then? Is this correct.

Spain need to beat Croatia to go through.
Croatia need to beat Spain and England to go through.
England need Spain not to win against Croatia and then beat Croatia

I think England get relegated if Croatia beat Spain and England too.

I feel sorry for Welbeck and everything... but that's just weird.

    I mean, he's not dead.

Croatia won't win at Wembley this time. Think England will finish second and as you were.

Dunk is such a weird selection. 26 and average. Everyone gets a chance but Smalling

I am happy overall that Southgate gives plenty of people chances though.

Looking forward to see how Adams and McKennie perform for the US. I see Green has another lifeline and is apparently the hole behind Wood with Pulisic out on the right.

Sancho might run riot against the US.

Alli has 31 apps but what do cells and tablets have to do with this? ;)

(I presume apps = appearances but usually it's caps but oh well, funny)

I've asked this before but why haven't US appointed a permanent manager yet?

Lewis Dunk is starting a game for England.

I mean, he's by no means a bad player, but the idea that an England cap is some sacred thing is laughable

If they only show these matches on Sky, they become even more irrelevant than when they were on BBC/ITV.

Maguire injured, Stones & Gomez being saved for the real game, Smalling black listed, Cahill & Jones out of favour. That leaves you with Keane, Dunk, Tarkowski, Mee, Lascelles, Mawson, Holding etc as alternatives. They are all about the same level so it's a pick em' for 4th & 5th choice CB.

I'm not against it... I just find the idea that a England cap is some mythical thing and it's disrespectful to give one to Rooney tonight is totally ridiculous

Good decision ref. Wilson left his leg in and initiated the contact with Guzan. Cheating in a friendly for charity. Tut tut

Do US not have any promising young keepers?

Position they've been incredibly strong in last 20 years (Keller, Friedel, Howard and Guzan was fine up to 2014).
