This Liam guy is obviously an utter twat. However, even the possibility that he could go to jail over that is absurd. We protect freedom of speech in our culture for just this reason.

So fecktards can out themselves and be ostracized for the rest of their lives :)

I thought guidelines are not doing mouth to mouth. I assume they would have put him on a respirator and then doing chest compressions. My question was that I read it was 2 hours before they got his heart to restart and whether that was correct.

We also outlaw racism (and rightly so if you ask me). If someone wants to be racist, they can do so in private or somewhere else.

The guidelines regarding chest only compressions are mainly for the public, the reason being is that research has shown that people dont give effective breaths into the lungs as they are not used to it, lets face it how many times are you going to give CPR to someone in your lifetime? Because most people were not giving effective breaths for mouth to mouth it is a waste of time as they are doing something that is not helping so the decision was made to teach the public the hands only CPR routine. A paramedic will still give mouth to mouth as they will administer effective breaths because they are used to doing it.

In terms of the 2 hour thing, his heart may not have been flat lining for 2 hours, it could have been intermittently starting and stopping in that 2 hour period, if is heart was flat lined for the entire 2 hours well CPR would have been stopped long before 2 hours and he would have been declared dead. Again I obviously cant go into any details but what I will say is the the paramedics almost lost count of the amount of shocks given via defib. The fact he has shown improvement so soon is a big positive, hopefully he will have good brain function too.

Think all footballs should do it.

Cases like this happen far, far too often.

Great to see him making a recovery now. A lot of us didn't think he'd make it a couple of nights ago, nevermind be talking again by Monday.

It's worth saying this is the same time-frame for my Grand-father. It's a good sign however and he is young and much fitter.

Great to hear that he is speaking too and they've said he's starting to recognise people.

Saying on SSN that the cardiologist involved on the pitch suggested to the paramedics to take him directly to the specialist heart attack unit he is at now because he works there, and is one of the people who is working on his treatment.

For such a horrible thing to happen to Muamba, he really was in the right place at the right time.

Glad to see some positive news on Muamba today. Here's hoping he can make a return to health. Seeing him walk out of that hospital would give a fan of any club reason to smile come the end of the season regardless of what happens on the pitch.

very positive news. The movements, the speech and recognition. All in such a condensed space of time. Hopefully he continues to go from strength to strength.

    That's fantastic.

Agreed. Him living a full healthy life is more important than anything else. Even if it comes at the price of quitting football.

Really good to see. I love the way that the whole of football have united over all of this. It really has been quite moving to see at times.

The positive news is making me smile. Keep fighting Muamba and you'll recover. I'm not ashamed to say this whole incident has struck a nerve with me. I'm willing him to get well.

@Rednev. Give it a rest, will ya? Now's not the time.

So glad he seems to be on mend. He may never play football again, but fingers crossed he can lead a relatively normal life, that's the most important thing here.

He would have been taken to the London chest regardless, patients these days suffering cardiac arrests go to cardiac treatment centres most of the time instead of an a&e. True though he was in the right place at the right time given the circumstances of what happened. There is a long way to go for him but I hope he recovers well sod playing football there are far more important things in life.
