    Release date 27th March.

Anyone bothered? It looks good but I'm feeling a little tired of the series now.

Couldn't get into 4 at all but I really liked Primal for the new ideas. Won't have any time to play this any time soon though.

Think I'll wait a month for impressions before buying.

Had this pre-ordered for a bit as I am game sharing it on xbox so for the gold edition it has cost me £21.50

Have you missed out on AC:Origins then? Because that is an amazing game, best in the series.

Also, Watch Dogs 2? Tons better than the first and again a great game.

    Give em a try.

3 was superb, this looks great from the trailers. Hoping for good reviews, really enjoyed taking down outposts in innovative ways. Far Cry 4 was a bit of a let down, hopefully a return to form.

Looks fun but strangely similar to Ghost Recon. Ubisoft's open worlds tend to lack depth and life imo. The games could be so much if they'd address it properly and make something amazing.

Is the entire thing co op?

It's been three years since the last full Far Cry game I think. Only Primal spin off in between.

So it's out and I ordered but won't receive before 5-6 days :mad: I took the liberty of watching the first 10mins of a playthrough and boy does it look tasty
Currently I am hurrying to finish Primal which is a very good game.

I have too many games to catch up on and not enough time, but Far Cry games are like crack to me, not the most original anymore but guaranteed to have a blast. This looks no different.

Why is there character customisation for a first player game? You’ll never see your avatar

Anyway never played a far cry game but this one intrigues me. May pick it up

Far Cry games never did much for me, I never finished any of them but because the setting is interesting in this one and I like the premise of the story, plus I had a lot of credit in a local store from my awards at work, I pre-ordered this and will receive it tomorrow. I think I might actually like this one.

Watched many videos of it these past days and I really failed to fell into the hype for it. Also the AI looked terrible for me, running toward you like idiots who want to be killed. Just don't feel the same hype as WD2 or ACO.

Will wait for as many good reviews as possible before buying it.

Far Cry needs a really good base building system. Unless it has something like that by now.

All Far Cry games have solid mechanics and good to great production values but there's rarely a great video game underneath it all. I did finish the last one I played (Far Cry 4) but it had so much filler and a forgettable story. That seems to be standard Ubisoft these days so I'm not holding my breath this will be any better. My favourite Far Cry is still the first one, and that was a drastically different game.

They have massively improved the gameplay mechanics in AC origins and WD2. Their writing and scripting is still the problem. They don't seem to be able to pull a remarkable story as Ezio trilogy or Far Cry 3 anymore.

Oh I know, I finished Origins yesterday and posted my (not so favourable) impressions in the general gaming thread. The mechanics were certainly improved but its gameplay remains too one-dimensional to support the marathon games they insist on creating. Even so, gameplay is never a Ubisoft title's weak point, it's the writing as you said. Having just read Eurogamer's review of Far Cry 5, that tradition is kept intact. Pass.

They aren't going to change the whole formula of a series, otherwise it won't be an Assassin Creed any more. I think the amount of changes in this game was pretty enough to provide something new while keeping similarities to the original formula. Agree on the rest.

    Getting very positive feedback today.

I’m going to wait a month or so as I’ve got far too many games to play at the moment.

The last AC I truly enjoyed with the 2nd one with the introduction of Ezio Auditore, I play a couple of others and found them complete redundant garbage. I gave a go at Origins and honestly I don't regret, some game mechanics are the same but there is enough new elements to make it much more interesting.

On the fence for this one. I liked 3 and 4 but I have bloodborne and SOTC in my backlog, with Yakuza 6 and God of War coming out soon.

Eurogamer, Polygon and The Guardian reviews were less than glowing. Very critical about the story being a missed opportunity. Sounds like the gameplay is up to scratch though.

3 was great but 4 had too many cnutish moments. Like when you always got attacked by an animal as soon as you found a sniping spot.
This new one sounds better than both though.
A whole county in the US?

Metro gave it 8/10. They're my go to for reviews.

This is the carrot on the end of the stick for the end of Uni for me

Absolutely loved 4, 100% run through a few times, nothing more satisfying than clearing out a base undetected with a crossbow :D

Really felt like they nailed the sandbox environment, plenty to explore with subtle ways of keeping you on track.

Checked Polygon review. It seems very cruel. They criticized the story a lot but they praised most aspects of the gameplay and open world, then ended up giving it 6.5 just for the story being terrible ? That's illogical.

I'll be going nowhere near this. I've a list of unfinished games as long as a toilet roll... And I bought Nier Automata today on PSN sale as it's on my list of games to play.

Once I'm done with Dark souls 3; the last of us, horizon zero dawn, Witcher 3, monster Hunter, Fortnite, Nioh and Nier Automata... I'll consider far cry 5. Assuming the new god of war isn't worth getting.....

Sheeeeeeeeeit, I need a second life to play all these games.

Yeah, Waypoint didn’t seem to like it either.

I love the looks of the gameplay though.
