As blatant as they come. Wonder if it will be as big a talking point as our pen against QPR?
I'll be amazed if we ever see it again.
I knew this would happen after QPR.
Stone wall penalty, it annoys me sometimes that we dont complain enough at these instances, but i suppose we are tought to not hound the referees.
I guarantee though if it happened in our penalty box, that fat fuck of a referee would of pointed to the spot quicker than it would take him to gobble down a pukka pie
Who says that decisions only go for us. Bar that though we didn't deserve anything from this game.
Nope, nor will the pulling of Welbeck's shirt.
The refs were absolutely shocking tonight. Went both ways though, and Wigan won in the end so everybody's happy and without a need to discuss it.
no chance the press will talk about it.
Of course not, not a huge story when the big decisions go against the big teams.
But clear as day, linesman had a clear view, ref had a clear view.
Linesman did see it, but decided to be a chicken in the end. Pathetic.
To be fair I doubt the press will talk about their disallowed goal either.
You know it won't, never mind the fact it wasn't a corner, their disallowed goal is 50/50 to me I'd be annoyed if we had it disallowed but I can see why it wasn't given. Dowd overcompensated from that point on though, Jones got booked or trying to head the friggin' ball!
That was the correct decision though.
We should have had the penalty. Wigan should have had their goal. Wigan should not have had a corner. Evans should have been off.
Four big mistakes. Two for and two against.
It will ruin their "title race is back on" story. Media is a sales business, not truth and fact telling business.
Horrific performance from the refs again tonight. 4 crucial decisions which they got utterly wrong in my opinion.
Disagree. Highly debatable.
Lets not forget Evans should have been sent off too.
Terrible decision, was clear cut. But we didn't deserve it if I'm being honest, and we had gotten a few lucky decisions in the last few weeks (although I highly doubt the penalty we got against QPR would have changed anything if we didn't get it). The corner before there goal should never have been awarded as well, but the main fact is we were shite.
And no, the media never talks about our missed decisions. Almost as if they never happen. They just brush them off and say shite like oh well they get decisions all the time in their favour and everyone believes them when it is clearly not the case.
I thought the first yellow was ridiculous but the tackle should have been a yellow. The game was a big series of referee mistakes. Lots of little ones as well.
The linesman Dave Richardson works at the same place as me. I'll be having words when I see him next.
Nah, Evans foot was grounded when he made contact.
can talk about ref performances all we like, we didn't play well to win the match, i don't think anyone can argue Wigan deserved to win the game sadly.
Won't be mentioned, and neither will the fact that their goal came from a corner that was never a corner in a million years.
Their disallowed goal was a weird one, I can see why they were annoyed but I do think De Gea was being impeded so essentially it's a foul.
Their first goal was never a corner, and we should have had a penalty.
I think the most stonewall decision in the whole match was our penalty shout.
Still a blatant yellow card, Pogue. He was about an hour late in the challenge.
He was on a yellow. The second tackle was a clear yellow. Don't need studs showing for that.
Debatable it might be but nowhere near as obvious an error as the handball.
Evans foul was never a red.
The officials were as poor as we were.
Good thing this thread is about a refs decision then and you have like a billion other threads to talk about the performance by United, eh.
We deserved to lose. Who cares.
Kelvin, what country are you from? Because I hate to criticise someone's basic language skills if English isn't their first language.
Fairly obvious to anyone that Wigan deserved to win, we deserved to win against QPR but all everyone could talk about was Ashley Young.
You cold bastard Lance.
This is true too, it was a penalty but I'm not losing sleep over it, didn't deserve anything tonight.
If we had played well and lost due to some dodgy decisions then fair enough. That was not the case, though.
And yeah, Evans should have been off.
What? This is the whole point of making our pen against QPR a big talking point..
Job done.. Race back on.. Moving on to the next decision favoring United..
The referees have had a really shit week haven't they? So many poor decisions, shocking.
On the top of my head Chelsea offside goals against Wigan as well as Ivanovic's cowardly punch but that one is easy to miss. QPR red and pen. Villa player getting booked for diving when he was fouled in the corner of the penalty box, should've been a pen. Balotelli doing enough fouls to get sent off 3 times before finally getting sent off during the 90th minute. Norwich getting 3 legit penalty claims turned down against Spurs. Handball tonight too. Wasn't a corner for Wigan when Maloney scored either, but was hard to see so can't fault them much for that one. Thought the first goal was a little bit harsh on Wigan as well, but DDG was clearly screened by Caldwell.
Oh yeah. Fair point. Forgot he was on a yellow. Watching stream with Russian commentary. Was wondering why they showed it so many times!
I don't give a fuck what u think i am upset with our performances, don't shift the blame on the ref for our defeat tonight.
Like most of these decisions, you make your own luck in football. Wigan made theirs tonight, we didn't.
The result was correct even with the officials playing scriptwriter.
