Apoel, then Marseille or Benfica. Bound to be
My thoughts are the same. You may as well open the thread now.
No Champions League games against lesser teams are easy, you should know that considering some of your group stage games.
Nope, they'll get Madrid, beat them, then Milan, beat them and in the final beat Barca 1-0.
Like I said my friends, accept it already, you'll be fully prepared for when it happens that way. Only helping my fellow caftards out, don't want a similar suicide epidemic that happened when Liverpool fluked the CL, we have to be prepared for any kind of cataclysm this time.
Ha. Is the 2005 CL Final thread still available on here? That would be a funny read.
As Napoli discovered to their cost tonight.
Ignore the conspiracy brigade, and fair point TBH.
Rumour has it Roman was spotted writing out a cheque to FIFA right after he'd written out the one for the job-lot of plastic flags and paying the several thousand stooges strategically placed in the stands tonight
Perhaps so, the same might be said for them playing some Europa League sides as well.
Great result and an excellent performance to overturn a tough tie against a very dangerous and in-form team. No chance to win the whole thing, I'm afraid, but hopefully this gives us a much needed confidence going into the last stretch of games in a fight for the fourth spot in the PL.
Has anyone got the final result of Liverpool in Amsterdam? Those highlights would make for an interesting viewing.
Now that doesn't actually make sense, does it?
It is very interesting how there has been a significant upswing in the performances of Chelsea and Arsenal recently whilst Tottenham start to lose a few.
Good thing the mighty Basel didn't underestimate you.
That clearance by Cole in the first leg was probably what won it for them in the two legs.
Di Matteo was going on around hugging and jumping on players when they weren't even remotely interested to celebrate with him with Drogba in particular Kinda embarassing for him really, he's trying too hard
It was sweet...he's trying to be little Jose
pity you had to spoil your previous post with a dipper/bitter attempt at trying to do the perennial champs down. Blips are a fact of life, even for serial champs. Pretenders with a lottery win like you and the Berties who'd otherwise be battling it out with Bolton and West Ham, jump at every chance to enjoy one blips. See you in May.
It was cringe when he tried to jump into Drogba's arms but Drogba made no attempt to hold him up so he tried again to wrap his legs around him. It Drogbe wasn't having it, so he ended up doing that jumping up and down hug.
I like Di Matteo though. I hope this job allows him to get a job where he won't be treated like dirt.
meanwhile......more emotion from Klanfield after their historic win.
at least he got the Bobby Charlton bit right
he just forgot to take AVB's "hug the manager too" sign down.
Great tackle on Torres though.
Torres' head is no longer with Chelsea...so to speak
My thoughts exactly. I couldn't quite bring myself to cheer them on but it's a very good result for United. Hopefully they win their FA Cup tie at the weekend as well and we beat Wolves. Massive pressure on City then and the chavs can get something at the Ethiad.
Then they can go back to being shite again
One a bit over enthusiastic the other doesn't give a feck.
Torres was probably hoping they'd go out so he'd be part of the clearout
did Torres done anything of note to deserve such a hug?
I went back to that timeframe a few months ago. It was hilarious. I think GB closed the thread after they came back, then banned some Liverpool fans
He really loves the club though, so it's natural he would be a) really excited cause of the win and b) even more excited because the win came under his management ergo plus points for him.
Ask every single manager around Europe who they would like to have based a team around: Gerrard or Scholes and you will only ever get one answer.
Cag-her in talking shite shock.
What a shit three days of watching football. We see a team making fun of one that's in the CL instead of us. Chelsea got through. Liverpool had no problems and Stevie got a hat trick. Then this atrocious performance that finally put us out of our misery. All the sings point to a City win now. That wouldn't bother me that much though. Give them more games whilst we have none. If they manage to win the thing and we get the league then go ahead and take it.
I want City out. I don't want them to be able to use still being in Europe as an excuse when we win the league and I sure as hell don't want them winning the competition.
What channel is the City game on?
I know Twente vs Shalke is on ITV4
ESPN in the UK.
Typically my EPSN is playing up tonight. fecking shithouse channel.
'Look at me, I have such a strong relationship with my players, because that's the kind of manager I am'.
