    Anyone involved with Football Index?

    https://trade.footballindex.co.uk/

Recently created an account and started ‘trading’.

Was looking for hints/tips or just a general chat about it.

For anyone who hasn’t, it’s basically a football stock market that allows you to buy and sell shares in players for real cash.

You can then earn dividends (by how well a player performs etc...) or if you find the next Mbappe buy low, sell high.

Heard it advertised on the Totally Football Show...

Have to say, can't for the life of me understand what it is... a more in depth explanation (with examples)?

To be honest, I’m still finding my feet. One of the reasons for posting is to learn from others too.

However I have found a few helpful people on Twitter.

Footyindexman is who I am following at the minute as he is starting to make videos for newcomers. (Ignore the sign up offers unless you want to take advantage)

Their twitter account has 10k followers but their tweets have less than 10 retweets etc, in other words there's very little activity happening with their followers. On first impression it looks shady but apparently they're featured by the Mirror, Yahoo, Squawka and FourFourTwo which isn't too shabby.

100% genuine. They are regulated the same as any other gambling organisation.

They are pushing their promotion campaign at the minute. Advertising on Global Radio (Heart, Capital, Smooth Etc.), Transport for London & Talksport they also have a partnership with Opta and WhoScored too.

Really enjoying it at the minute and have made a small profit from all of the chaos the transfer window brings.

1 year on.... plenty of advertising on SkySports etc, anyone else joined?

I left around February / March. But have rejoined and regret leaving looking at the prices of the players I held a year ago.

Sancho, Maddison etc have rocketed even players like Torreira etc have doubled in value in the last year.

If anyone does get tempted to sign up, let me know and I’ll send a link so I get a referral

That’s actually how I found it originally, I wondered if that was still going and ended up on football index haha.

Signed up like 6 months ago. Have went from about £240 invested to £310 now. Would be much more if I invested all at the start of course but I started with only £25. I don't pay much attention to it tbh. My gains are purely from it becoming more popular and thus the market growing. Basically for me the big players are just the best. Win all the dividends and as the market grows with new users they all buy the big names. It's annoying I didn't realize this until they'd all doubled in value.

Tbh it’s probably not a bad idea to leave it, and just have a check every so often, the amount of people joining and new money being pumped in, most of the players are only going to rise in price.

It seems difficult to make any real sort of money no? Or can you buy a player several times?

Tanguy Ndombele for example was worth £0.51 a year ago and now he's worth £3.07

That's not much for a player everyone is talking about as being a potential top, top signing.

Oh wait, you can buy the same player several times... that makes more sense.

Yeah, so for example I recently bought back into Florian Neuhaus, his value was £1.70 he’s now £1.84 24 hours later, I bought only 20 of him so 14p per share profit. If you decide to sell it’s money in the bank or you can keep to hopefully see if his price continues to rise etc...

The reason why I’ve put it on SM was for people like you and TS etc. You have an eye for talent, make the most of it be sensible and make some money :D

It was one of the reasons, a lad at work asked if I was still on and how much certain players had risen.

Regretted leaving now in hindsight but I’ve made 10% profit in about a month being back on. More than I’d get with my Lloyd’s savings account

@Wino1 is there a website that shows prices for complete clubs? The Football Index site only seems to allow you to browse by player?

Definitely the best thing to do, even when you do join, start small. Work out what the market reacts too.

January will be volatile too due to the transfer window. Values will be everywhere.

Ighalo for example has increased 56% in the last 24 hours due to links with Southampton. If you got in early and have sold recently a 50%+ increase on your investment is far greater than anything I’ve ever known.

Find it so much safer than chucking money at bet365.

That’s what most people think. Have a look on twitter etc... they even have a forum themselves.

I was exactly the same, but do realise if you aren’t savvy you can quite easily lose money too.

Yeah, i've just been checking some U21 players in Ligue 1.

Biggest gainer (apart from Mbappe) in the last 3 months are:
    Houssem Aouar +£1.12
    Aurelien Tchouameni +£0.46
    Jean-Clair Todibo +£0.44
    Boubacar Kamara +£0.28
    Ismaila Sarr +£0.26

Biggest losers in the last 3 months are:
    Ibrahim Sangaré -£0.23
    Maxime Lopez -£0.23
    Allan Saint-Maximin -£0.25
    Youri Tielemans -£0.26
    Christopher Nkunku -£0.33

Most of them make sense. The only teenagers that have dropped in the last 3 months is Diop and Maolida which I guess is due to them being highly rated and yet their clubs are having shit seasons.

Weird. I looked in there but it's missing players for me. If I check for example Toulouse then Todibo is missing from the player list. Despite him being in the actual Database (you can search his name and find him).

It’s a newish feature, looks like they are having issues with it then, also it’s similar to SM in that it hasn’t got every single player. They have what they call IPO’s normally 10/15 players added a week spread out over 2/3 days.

Ok, looks like it's fairly new players they haven't added over yet. Noticed Panzo and Diop aren't listed in Monaco either but they're in the database.

Considered doing this for quite a while now. I originally thought you could only buy a player off of another manager though, so there would be 1 Ronaldo, 1 Messi etc

There is no cap to how many you can buy of each player. But you can only purchase 100 per transaction.

So I can buy 100. Then buy another 100 within seconds.

It’s not a fool proof way of knowing but it’s a close as anyone has worked out. 100 shares = 1p.

So if Jarrod Bowen (Hull City) was added to the databese tomorrow for a share price of £1 if I was the only one to buy and purchased 200 shares his value should rise to £1.02.

Make sense? If not tell me haha

Ah.... ok. So the share price is determined by other users and nothing else?

Yup. Prices a driven by demand nothing else. The more people buy the higher the price, the more people selling or not buying the lower the price.

So whats the difference between First Team and Squad? That's my last question honest. It wasn't exactly clear in the FAQ.

So isn't this like one big pyramid scheme then? At least individually for each player.

The most valuable 200 players are the ‘first team’ and below are the ‘squad’

Only players in the first team can earn MB dividends. But the top 200 is updated at midnight everyday.

Explain more mate. I don’t understand what you mean haha.

I'd probably be looking to lump big on Pereira around March time. He'll get a move in the summer and his value should sky rocker

Even though it's not, it does seem to good to be true.

To be interested enough to be on it, I feel like you'd naturally have to be very engaged with football and not many people would be bad enough for people to make money.

There is a lot of twitter accounts that try to ‘pump & dump’. Big a player up, incest enough so people see movement wait for his price to rise then cash out. Making a quick profit and leaving other people who invested late in the red.

Just remember me when you’re making serious money haha.

If you sign up use my link ;)

I watch plenty of football, one of my only real hobbies. Always had decent knowledge of other leagues aswell so this for me is a hobby playing with my savings and making more than I would in a bank.

Does website take a commission of cash outs? How does it make money?
