So I've heard nothing on this yet? Any news on it?
What can we expect?
What do you want to see?
Did this really need a separate thread when it hasn't even been announced yet?
It'll be out around November, like always.
Yeah, it's a separate game so a separate thread. When it is announced it can be posted here.
I'd like to see better graphics, better dialogue between player and manager, and better boardroom requests. Improve the managers so they don't come out and say you're out of your depth when you've won the CL 4 times in a row and the league and just beaten them 10-0, or that you would do better if you didn't try to walk the ball into the net when you've just beaten them 5-2.. Apply a bit of common sense to it.
I'd also make the editor more user friendly, like they did with the tactics, a advanced creation and a custom one, if you try to create a whole new club there's so many options to mess about with, inputing debt levels, you can't make your own stadium, you can't make your own board, you have to sign existing board members from other clubs but I'll be fecked if I know what their names are to search them. I ended up just editing another club.
Course it bloody does, just bump it when there's info. The FM 2011 thread was started June 3rd.
Change it so youth players don't start demanding stupid contracts despite being massively shit and having no hope of ever improving.
Unfortunately there'll be a whole new batch of silly bugs, a small variety of new features (2 or 3 of which will be broken until the first patch) and a slight polish up of the 3D enginge, with very little else that would warrant it being a new game.
Fortunately I couldn't care less and will still play it to death like the mug that I am.
You can make your own stadium, and I'm pretty sure you could theoretically make your own entire board if you really wanted to. But the easiest is obviously to just completely edit another club, since you need to replace one anyway.
Yeah you can make board members by creating new people. Not sure if you can do it in this one but you used to be able to create towns and cities as well.
I'd like them to sort out the press conferences, and the lack of offers for players.
I have officially announced my FM retirement. I didnt play this years much at all and sold it a couple of months ago.
Goodbye FM, I want my wasted time back
Sort out the random transfer targets thing and change it so that players aren't demanding new contracts every time you reject an offer for them from another club.
I couldn't find out how to do that, but it's a pain in the arse. It would be so much easier to have a easy create mode like on the tactics, for those who want to be quick about it.
This, I offered Adebayor out for 1k in his prime and noone wanted him. Then again, that one is probably fair enough.
I'd also like to see them let you choose on your holiday when to come back on a certain job offer, come back when X post is available. I left as the RM boss and was unemployed with it set to 'higher reputation clubs' went on holiday and it kept bringing me back for Stoke and Hull offers etc. At least let you make a shortlist.
Not sure that would work. You need to edit the things you need. I don't know how they could make it easy. Would it skip some of the stats? What would they be, then?
Using the editor isn't that hard. I've had a lot of practice with it, of course. You just go to the "create club/person/stadium" thing, and start filling in. You can also duplicate players/officials/clubs, etc, so if you want to create a team of 17 year olds with some base stats similar you can first make one and then duplicate him, and then start editing the particulars.
Something I've wanted a long time in Football Manager is to be able to table double of triple bids for more than one player at a club, like when Portsmouth bought three or four players from Tottenham in one bid a few years back or Sunderland's bid for three of our lad's now.
I'd like a clause when buying a player that automatically loans them back to the club they're being bought from rather than delaying the date they sign for your club.
I kinda wish they'd skip it and just worked on sorting all the shit out for FM13 but it'll never happen.
It could just generate it iself, the important stuff, make a random board, chairmen, generate the attendances itself based on the league/rating of the club, just the boring shit that could mess up everything you've done if you forget it.
You just input the club name, make the stadium based on some simple questions, choose the kit, done. The game can fill out all the rest of the boxes and generate it's own chairmen/board with their own tendencies and personalities regarding money etc. Rather than having to go in, edit the stadium, add each of the chairmen, adding all the staff yourself and setting all the stats of the staff yourself, adding the debt levels of the club, the competitions you are in, where you placed last year, the one you were in last year, your club history, etc etc and all the rest of it.
It's all the boring shit you have to spend half an hour filling in boxes for that could just be generated by a quick tutorial for you to make it unique.
There is one major thing I want implemented: Youth schools around the world. I remember it was in FIFA manager where you could set up a centre anywhere in the world (prices obviously varies) and it was also in FM Live where the youth players coming through could be more specific and better depending on the quality of the facilities.
It was in FM Live so it shouldn't be hard to crossover to FM 2012. Instead of getting a group of 9 player of which 7 are an embarrassment to mankind and the other 2 should be playing in the conference you can instead more specialised players with the skills and positions you need.
I've had some proper spacky regens come through at Lazio. I had one who didn't have a stat above 7 by the time he'd reached 19 and his value was put as 0 by the game.
I don't really recognize this. Some years, obviously, but that's only natural. Look at United. In my United game, I've currently got maybe two-three players that came straight from my academy that can be very good. One of them can be Rooney-good, the others very good squad players, at the very least.
I think right now they have found a good balance, so there aren't too many top players in a few years, but there are some.
The part about specialization.. maybe. But not sure how accurate that is towards real life. You take the talents you can find, and then make of them what you can.
7th June 2021 - Ireland appoint Owen Coyle
8th June 2021 - Ireland boss Owen Coyle under pressure...losing patienc...a bad result could seal his fate.
24th June 2011- A confused Brophs posts in the wrong thread.
What a gimp.
I can see there might be a issue with regards to amazing players coming through every year, but if I recall correctly in FM Live it was slightly similar to the current system, percentage wise, but you got the players you wanted in the right positions doing what you needed them to. The better the school in place the better the youth coming through.
United, Barca, Inter and Real in the game always produce great youth players but other than that I've found its very rare that a good squad player comes through, let alone a starter. Besides those 4 teams and the odd other good team it feels completely random.
Not sure how I'm explaining this but for those who played FM Live may know what I mean. The youth system in that was a lot better than what it is in the normal FM I feel.
they need to write about 40 to 50 times more questions than what they have for press conferences and interviews at the moment, there so repetitive its depressing.
Also I dont think there are enough top regens coming through and its blindingly obvious at international level. Get 10-12 years into the game and compare any national team to the current one and the difference is drastic.
Hmm, I'm not sure about that. I don't want to know players' CA/PA in my game, so I'm not going to check that, but from a cursory glance at the national teams in my Maidenhead game the situation isn't that grim. Oh, there are some mediocre players, but take a look at almost any national team from now, it's never all good. Some teams certainly fare better than others. England in my game have a few great players, but a few bad ones. But that seems to vary from game to game, and it changes.
Here are some examples. I did choose among the best, but these are far from all. I could do that, but it would be a lot of work for something relatively minor
(By the way, thanks for making me load up my Maidenhead game to do that, it's been a month or two since I played it, now I want to keep playing it )
Second batch. Simply because I had already done them, not remembering I could only post 10 pictures.
Dont get me wrong theres a lot of top quality regens in my game, i could probably post up at least 10 players of similar tekkers to yours, but when you manage these teams internationally the lack of quality shows then.
Ive managed most of the top national sides (european only) in different games and more often then not you can manage to string together an okay side but you have no where near the options you did in your national pool as at the start of the game.
My England team that the im currently managing in 2029 is shocking, apart from 3 fairly decent players i have, the rest of the first team are players that cant get a game at their mid and lower end of the table premiership clubs.
Beyond that there is even less - very few players challenging the squad of 23-26.
Like i say this hasnt just happened with england I have found similar situations in all my international careers- the lack of options just seem to decline over time.
Hmm, I'm still not sure I agree. To some degree, yes. And England seems to be worse than most. I've managed them, and they had some great players and mostly average (for that level) players. The likes of Argentina, Brazil and Spain seem as good as ever, though.
I don't know, I just think maybe we're looking at the current teams with some form of bias. Even the Brazil team of today isn't that spectacular. Nor is England, when you think of some of the players there.
They should sort out the security on Sega Pass first (take a look at their forums).
Personally, I'm not convinced anything big is planned for FM12, so I might just give this one a miss too.
I'm the sort of person who prefers regens anyway so buying a new game just for essentially just a database upgrade and a few tweaks (and new bugs of course) doesn't make sense to me.
I'd like to see TV companies added
For example Man Utd v Liverpool has been moved to Sunday 28th August with a 1.30pm kick off to be televised by Sky Sports
Adds more realism imo
On a player's career stats page, I want to be able to check their entire goals and appearances record, not just in the league...unless I'm an idiot and have overlooked a way to do this?
Not possible. Miles said he'd consider a use-case for it (the argument against it was the fact that cup opposition tends to be lower-league fodder which skews results). Personally, I think we should have the option to see goal tallies across all competitions and the ability to hide cup competitions if you want to.
Precisely what I was after.
Miles has a voice that doesn't suit his face.
Less offers for players that comprise of a small upfront fee and multiple monthly payments.
As long as they sort the memory bleed issue out I'll be a happy man.
Even if the demo is wraught with bugs I'll probably still get it.
>Paying for a Football Manager game
same shit on a different number.
What I would really like to see :
1. More realistic Transfer and AI managerial skill (after a few season domination is almost given), you don't see AI managerial skill span over more than 10 years, after 10 years they're a joke, not enough inteligence for squad building and purchase
2. Managerial perks : Surely if you're doing better than SAF you should be getting praises, bonuses, special traits (perhaps deciding whose to buy, general outcome and policies, etc) perhaps build us a statue, knighted, adulations
3. Open Top Bus Parade on treble winner
4. More top coaches Regen : normally i'd just edit my coaches as I can't be bothered to search 1000+ coaches and try them
5. The current FM is flawed on the agent and wage structure, I can't keep my rooney even with all maxed out, he's asking for 400k / week which no sane manager can agree too, and even if I wanted to give him (I give him the boot FFS) the mechanism wouldn't allow me
6. Less repetitive dialog with players, up to a while it's getting boring and useless
7. Match Engine is fine, I never use the 3d/2d shits anyway
8. More realistic player ambition, I can play Messi every 3 games once and he doesn't sulk :P , on the other hand I can stash in 20+ youngster hot prospect and they don't sulk either :P
9. More realistic opposition manager appointment, getting sacked and hired the next season is plain dumb, that and more worthy managerial regen
Need to sort out the feeder club system and sponsor system. I took Luton from Blue Square to multiple Champions League winners, had a world class reputation and some of the players are had were always competing for world player of the year. Yet when i tried getting a feeder club is kept telling me none could be found.
Also i find sponsorship even worst. Top clubs in the game can have 5+ sponsors. In my Luton game, despite my many successes, was always stuck with one.
Make it less boring, monotonous and slow. More like the older Chamionship managers.
Separate names with a comma.
