I get why Platini would make the list but not sure that high. I can't hate a man who was in 'THAT' France team.

Obviously he is a criminal genius who dodged taxes.

Seriously though I understand that 'Ignorance is no excuse in law', he is guilty and should be punished in court, however I don't think it makes any sense to assume that he, Ronaldo or any other athlete blamed 'tax dodging' in Spain did something morally wrong on their own which makes them a bad person. The most you can accuse them of is that they were careless and should have had more people check their stuff.

Yeah pretty much no one hates Messi, he is far away from that list. Ronaldo on the other side isn't really popular outside Caf. I don't even like him much as a United fan, just hate the way he left us. He isn't the biggest cnut in the world, but he has his antics, seems selfish, arrogant and a bit of a drama queen/crybaby. Don't know why he is in front of the likes of Suarez and Pepe though, especially Suarez should be near the top of the list.

Weird list. Actual bigots and even criminals ranked lower than people who are very good at what they do but might perhaps have a "punchable face".

Joey Barton has several counts of serious assault. He stubbed a cigar out on someones eye. But Ronaldo is higher because he dives and stuff. I don't even like Ronaldo, but there's some real serious shithouses beneath him in that list.

I am surprised Mourinho is #2 of all hated people. I imagine being United manager has propelled him up the list somewhat. Before he was the United manager, he seemed no more irritating than Klopp or Conte, much less so infact, even when he imploded at Chelsea. All I can think of that puts him there is that poke in the eye when he was at Madrid. What else has he done, other than being a bit of a moaner, which is the case for 100% of managers? He probably makes the list, but the 2nd most hated man in the history of the industry? Nah.

What’s Kevin Muscat done to warrant being on the list?

Surprised Giggs isn’t on there. And I am very surprised that Adam Johnson isn’t on there at all. People must not care about a man being a peado. Ched Evans should be on the list as well.

Many on the list are narcissists. Guess people don't like self-obsessed cnuts.

Think that both Guardiola and Jose are narcissistic. The irony is that it is more visible with Jose even though Guardiola has more hubris.

If Jose manages to tame the narcissitic beast in himself, he could be successful for longer at one club and not leave in the third year. At the same time, he is charismatic partly because of his narcisstic tendencies.

Seems a bit weird to combine panto hate figures like Fergie with people like Sepp Blatter, who were corrupt and sucked so much from the game.

It's easy to dislike Ronaldo because he's an egomaniac.

123 yellow cards and 12 red cards in a career makes him a worthy entrant to this list. This tackle wasn't a one off in his career either i'm pretty sure.

Feels kind of arbitrary in that I'm not really sure what perspective it's being written from; if it's an English-football centric viewpoint then Keys is understandable to an extent, but I doubt many outside Britain know or care who he is. And he's a bit of a meme anyway.

I'd actually argue to the contrary - pre-United he came across awfully in the whole physio scandal at the start of 2015-16, and a few years before that he had the eye-poking incident. For the most part I'd say he's been fairly mild at United so far. But, aye, 2nd's very, very extreme. Too high.

He retired after that game anyway. It was his team's last game for the 2010-11 season. Muscat was 37 at the time and turned 38 during 2011, so there's every chance he would have retired after that season. If he didn't retire, the ban would have been substantial.

Yeah should have been footballs Panto Villains, then you don't have to explain why John Fashanu (who disowned his own brother for being gay) is much lower than Ronaldo (one of the best footballers of all time).

I think they should make a seperate list for people who committed serious white collar crimes and should be in jail and people who for instance dive a lot or give annoying post match interviews.

    Just a thought.

Cheap anti-United clicks by lazy journalists...like this rubbish from F365:

'Manchester United could not be more transparently the baddies if they marched around with skulls on their hats twirling their long moustaches and tying women to railways. Despite having won just two proper domestic trophies in the four seasons since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013, there is still plenty of fun to be had in watching this huge empire slowly brought to its knees from within – particularly with the intentionally dislikeable Jose Mourinho as their Darth Vader-like public face.'

Stuff with Eva Carneiro even turned some people on here off him for a while. From a google search, other things that people hate about Mourinho:
    • The way his teams generally play
    • Him getting sent off quite a lot on the touchline
    • Bringing a piece of paper with referee mistakes on to a press conference
    • Genuine moan from Liverpool fans - his fashion sense
Here are some articles (with quite a few ridiculous points):
    1. Mirror
    2. Joe
    3. Goal

Well, you know what they say.. the more successful you are, the more haters you'd get.

Seriously though, what a crap list. Alan Pardew definitely deserves to be higher up in that list. That celebratory dance alone puts him in the top 10.

Unless I have a short memory, I really don't remember his playing style getting anywhere near the same amount of grief at Chelsea as it does at United (I know it go some, but definitely not to the same extent, nowhere near). Even this season when the team is scoring goals for fun, he's still getting pelters for supposedly parking the bus. Even when we kept winning 4-0, the media kept spinning it in to "But they're only scoring in the last 15 minutes" as if that is a negative. The only time I really remember him being criticised significantly for it outside of United was when he won the Champions League with Inter, especially after those 2 legs vs Barca. That was some pretty awful football to watch, though it was certainly effective, but a lot of people didn't like it.

I'm sure that he definitely makes this Top 50 list at almost any stage of his career, but #2 of all time seems crazy to me. I'd bet even if this list was compiled immediately after his 2nd Chelsea exit with the Eva Carneiro stuff fresh in the mind and how badly he came out of that ordeal, he doesn't end up as #2.

I kind of like that he is widely disliked, as it feels reminiscent of Sir Alex being our manager, but the 2nd most hated man in the sport is pretty wild. Ahead of actual criminals and bigots.

Poor list overall, some of them should be nowhere near the list while others should be much higher.

Some who are missing that I would expect included: Bowyer, Rooney, Wenger, Tevez, Gerrard, Rivaldo, van Nistelrooy, Keown, Keane, Shearer, Bellamy.
