Well I don't usually indulge in transfer muppetry but I think we should break the bank for him. I was stunned by his performance last night.

Spurs don't have the balls to challenge for major honours. He'll be wasted at the club.

No point in waiting around. At 21 he has his whole career ahead of him and he will undoubtedly only get better. And more expensive as the time goes by.

Let's replace a Welsh wizard with a young prospect of becoming one.

    Sign him up already.

A potential world beater in the making. He looks like a player who would benefit from moving to a bigger club, which he undoubtedly will at some point. We would be wise to make a move sooner rather than later. Staying at Spurs will be a mistake for him.

A transfer thread yes. Speculation will undoubtedly grow as the season goes on and almost everyone on here is somewhat interested in this player. The perfect replacement for Giggs in my eyes.

He'll stay at Spurs. For the near future at least.

He's trying to compete with Rooney for the 'most threads on redcafe' award.

Yep, United were sizing up a £50m bid a few summers ago according to one paper I remember.

I love the way you just all assume he'd want to join you.

Man City and Chelsea both have better teams than you, and can offer higher wages. Not to mention Real Madrid and Barcelona plus many more top European clubs.

YOU will NOT be his number 1 destination.

    100% true.

You just don't see it because you've got your red tinted goggles on.

Your midfield is a joke. It really is.

I think Gareth Bale would rather play for the blue half of Manchester.

So according to you, if he does not want to come to United, is because he thinks our midfield is a joke? Right, carry on

To be closer to the truth, you're a joke yourself using the name of a former United player on a United message board when you aren't a United fan. What are you trying to prove? :houllier:

    Get a fecking grip.

If Man City were better than us just now, they'd be ahead in the league.

    What team do you support?

I never said that. That was my judgement of your team.

I don't know what Bale thinks. But I will guarentee you aren't his number 1 destiniation. After all despite what you guys think, he's already rejected you to join Spurs.

I agree, I dont think he'll leave Spurs. He's at a good enough club to challenge for honours and to help him improve as a player. Look how far he's came in so little time with Spurs!

Plus, it would take an insane amount of money to land him - I would have thought in excess of £35m. We wont pay that.

:houllier: Because thats the way football works?

Thats like saying Blackpool are better than Liverpool because they are higher up the table. Which is completely are utterly wrong.

Honestly, some of you lot are deluded.

To be fair, I think he'd be stupid to leave Spurs and I don't think Spurs will let him leave anyway. They're taking strides forward under Harry and in my mind they're one maybe two signings away from being right up there. I actually think they'll finish above City this season and will have a better future longterm.

We missed the boat on Bale m'afraid. They aren't a selling club anymore under Harry.

Well you dont know that. They've not had any big offers for any of their players.

Offer them a shit load for Bale, then we'll see if they're a selling club or not.

    He's actually Gareth Bale's nanny.

You obviously meant that, reason why he won't join United is because we have a joke midfield. Seriously stop, it's embarassing.

Thats not what i meant though? Why would I say that.

I think he won't join you because Chelsea, City, Barcelona and Real are better teams and have more money to pay him.

What the hell are you going to use to buy him? Wayne Rooneys used Condoms?

Because there isn't a lot of money kicking around at OT.

Even United is a selling club if enough money is offered for a player and the player wants to go.

Point is whether they will sell him for an amount that represents value for the buyer or not, and that might be hard with Spurs right now.

Why would he join City? City sign 5 new midfielders every summer.

IMO, if Bale were leaving Spurs, he'd be wishing to join either us or Chelsea: big clubs that need new blood in midfield.

Edit: Just realized that I am responding to a poster calling City a "better team" than United. Wow.

You clearly dont know what you're talking about.

Rooney gets paid just as much as any player in the PL. So your point on wages is pointless.

Chelsea, Barca and Real are better teams yeah, but City certainly aren't.

Clubs can try, but why would they sell their prized asset who is driving them forward in the CL? Signing VDV in the summer and doing well in the CL makes their club stronger and allows Harry to go after higher profile signings.

They're a club moving forward. Bale won't be sold, people are dillusioning themselves if they think Spurs are that stupid.

    Move on.

You have twice stated that Shitty are a better team than us. Meaning you are clueless in a variety of ways. Rendering any alleged "neutrality" irrelevant.

No way Bale would leave spurs to join City, the lad is very grounded and not an idiot... why join a team with little history and plagued with uncertainty and bad team morale.

Chelsea are genuine possibilities but again he's a flair player and not many generally have Chelsea down as their first choice, so for an English club we have a great chance provided that we have the sufficient finances.

Its teams like Madrid and Barca we have to be wary of... and whether he even needs to leave a team which is clearly going places for now.
