How did he plays? The score is hilarious.
Maurizio Sarri admits Gonzalo Higuain is ‘not in good shape’ after Chelsea get hammered by Bournemouth
Strange comment from Sarri as Higuain played very well last night. Did everything you want your striker to do. The problems lay elsewhere.
Actually, having read Sarri's comments, there isn't much wrong with what he said.
He must be wondering what on earth he's come to, getting hammered by a team he's probably never even heard of
'He can grow a great deal over the next few weeks'
Trust me Sarri, you have no idea.
Wait til he gets a good fish n chip into him, there'll be no fecking stopping him. Fishzola Chipguian.
His stomach already resembles a Yokohama Tire. Good for Chelsea's sponsor.
He’d want to be careful what he wishes for
Did he made the same training regime as Lukaku? You know, bulking up and stuff.
The Annihilator of Aldi.
"Light" was probably the wrong word.
Who was the last old star striker to come here? Probably Ibrahimovic. He ended up with 17 goals, which was decent, but clearly not as good as the very best. Although I suppose he didn't play a full season.
As an Arsenal fan I don't agree with this. He was world class way before his last year at Arsenal and was doing similar numbers in the league per game in the couple of seasons before, he just was injured for much of that time but when he played he was world class. Before that time he was a number 10 anyway and imo a world class no 10. His technique was always upper echelons of the game.
The thing about Higuain is, how will he do it in the PL? He's past his best physically but he has technique and control. Will this compensate for not being that fit? RVP, Rooney and Torres declined quite fast past their primes.
The argument that Morata wastes 3 chances per game doesn't mean Higuain gets 3 chances because Higuain may not have the legs to get him where Morata was when he missed those chances
I said it when he signed but he will be the difference between them not getting top 4 and getting it.
He is still good enough for a a year or two in the PL. His movement and finishing is still at a very good standard, unless it is a big game where he fluffs his chances. Looks to me like he will pick up quite some decent numbers against the lower league teams. Interested to see how he does in the big games.
His only concern would be his fitness levels and adapting to pace of the league. Movement and finishing is at avery high standard .
This is one of those comments where it'll be true come the end of season, but not in the way you think.
He will score goals, he has throughout his career. His movement and finishing will ensure even with lack of pace he'll get into good position.
Him being there has made our job harder but seeing Chelsea's remaining fixture we have a solid chance as long as we beat them at OT.
Every time I see him I just think he looks the way Fabregas probably will when he is about 45...
He is fantastic striker. I am not happy that he is in Chelsea
Why did you put that picture in my head!
I just think he is the type of striker that doesn't look like an athlete at all really, but he will get goals wherever he plays. He won't really contribute much in terms of general play, but get the ball in the box and he will finish all day long.
From what I’ve seen so far I disagree. Very good movement without the ball and seems conscious of how to create space for others by making the right runs. Even when he knows he won’t get the ball.
His all round game is actually very good.
With Sarri’s Napoli especially it was outstanding.
Damn, I predicted him to flop. Hopefully this performance was just a reflection of how poor Huddersfield are.
He's actually doing better than i expected. Probably wondering what hell he's let himself in for at Chelsea, but even yesterday he was the only one doing anything half decent.
I thought he was good in the first half, made a presentable goal chance to Pedro who should've scored. Lost the will to play in the second half though.
Yeah, he looks surprisingly sharp.
He's clearly a step up from Morata at the very least.
He'll score against us, all Chelsea strikers no matter how bad always do.
He's not poisoned by their dressing room yet, he'll want to do well.
Why did he not take a penalty in the shoot out?
Shat himself apparently!
really hate strikers who don't step up for a penalty. especially experienced strikers. pathetic.
Just don't get it like the poster above. This guy has taken regular penalties for Juve, Napoli and Argentina. I know he's missed a few big ones but he was still taking them after that miss for Argentina in the Copa final.
He'd been on a decent length of time in the game to warm up into things aswell.
Every Chelsea player that took a penalty is a better penalty taker than him. Simple as that.
It was most likely Sarri’s call. Higuain isn’t the type of player that shies away from taking penalties
Maybe it was an act of defiance against Sarri. Seems to be a trend in the Chelsea squad.
Did Sarri call out his physical shape and mental game again?
A brace against Huddersfield and a goal against Fulham so far has been a very poor return in the league.
