I've been meaning to watch, liking Westerns as much as I do - just have never gotten around to it

I'm excited even though the chances of it becoming a massive disappointment are quite high.

Is McShane gonna be in it? I'd lose most of my interest if not.

Of course he will. He is the heart of the show. And he still alive!!

Can't wait for this. Hopefully Mr. Wu and all the classics are back.

Missus hasn't seen this yet. She's in for a treat. She only knows McShane from GoT and John Wick so hearing him swear like a trooper should be fun.

And a movie? fecking finally!

I loved this when it first came out. But a big part of its impact was the realism of the swearing, nudity and goriness. I get the feeling it may have been overtaken by the likes of Game Of Thrones and Westworld on those scores.

I'll give it a rewatch. Hopefully the show still holds up.

I’ve rewatched it a bunch of times. McShane alone makes it worth it!

Him and Seth Bullock. Always thought they were brilliant playing off each other too.

Finally got around to watching Deadwood cos I wanted to be caught up for the movie coming out in May. First two episodes in, and I'm hooked. Swearengen: "He's got a mean way of being happy."

I've also started watching this, really enjoying it 4 episodes in. Lots of open ends it could go down which makes it exciting. Thinking the posh bird and Montana or whatever the feck his name is will hook up.. Al and the new saloon boys will defo create fireworks some time pretty soon too.

Trying to limit myself to 1 episode max per night though, feel like I burn through good shows too easily then have to spend a month weeding through dross to find something good again.

Three episodes in and still can’t tell if Swearengen is gonna turn out to be a baddie with misplaced intentions (a la Tony Soprano) or if he’s strictly all about greed. Or even less interestingly, simply a sociopath. From his face being on the movie trailer above, he must survive the three seasons which leads me to believe I’ll see a different side to him at some point. Hard to imagine three seasons of a main character who’s so popular without seeing a softer side. Then again, he tried to have a child killed ffs!

Great show. Prolly a tier just below Sopranos and The Wire, maybe on par with Breaking Bad and Mad Men. Some really great characters, EB Farnum being my favorite and of course, Al. Sad to read the actor who played Henderson passed away. Same with the actor who played Cy. Interesting to see where the movie goes and who they bring in as it’s gonna be a fairly older cast without any obvious enemies.
