The sequel to Hollow Knight, my 2nd fav game last year after GoW, very hyped for this
I literally came seeing the trailer. I was expecting a new playable character, but they are ACTUALLY GIVING US A WHOLE NEW GAME!!
Team Cherry, you guys are unbelievable!!
And to think so much content is coming from a 3 developers team is mind blowing.
Is it free DLC?
No it's a full blown sequel, it was first planned as dlc.
That's great as well. Especially with their prices.
Good to see it's coming to New South Wales, the Aussies will be happy.
I've put like 40 hours into this 9.99$ game was it? Its crazy the amount of content and effort that goes into this game.
There are sure to be nods and references to the previous game despite obviously treading a new path..
Ample scope for Nightmare King Grimm/Grimm Troupe and the Ritual to return for instance, due to the nature of the lore. Zote might be there too. I wonder if they would do that. Anyway, best news ever.
Awesome. Like everyone else I thought it would be just a Hornet add on but a full sequel with her moveset is fantastic.
I'm thinking maybe:
like the end of the last one, Hornet will now fight the new Hollow Knight but the final outcome will be changed somehow
I don't think it will tie in with the old story. Rather,
Everything is over with Hallownest, the vessels are gone and Hornet is on a journey of her own. Note the reference to "Towns" -- more than one, as opposed to Dirtmouth in the first game.
I wonder if there is an equivalent to the Path of Pain (not spoiling what it is here) though. Took me 9 hours to finish that fecker, wonder what horrors they can do to mimic or upgrade on that.
I need this. Now.
Anyone read anything at all (even rumors) surrounding a release date?!
I reckon it will take atleast 7-8 months, a no brainer. And then patch after patch to fix bugs, so I won't play it until at least 3-4 months after it's out to give them time to release patches. Bugs can kill a player in a tough game like this (No pun intended).
Enough time for me to finish the last pantheon in the first game, get started and finish La Mulana 2 which I bought on Steam and couldn't get around to playing due to the time consuming nature of HK.
If you haven't played La Mulana 1 and 2, try it out while waiting for this. Brilliant games, LM 1 was my all-time favorite before HK was released.
EDIT: The devs talk about the game here:
Cool stuff. I'll no doubt buy this while still having not played the original that's sat in my library for years
