I hope the likes of Lampard and Gerrard are successful as managers. Even as a United fan. Honestly I wish Ferdinand, G Nev and Scholes would give it a go (again for Neville). I don’t want them to become bitter pundits like Souness or Quinn.

There are literally no English options as managers for clubs and country. I know some of will think does it matter if they’re English but when the Premier League has still not been won by an English manager surely that quite pathetic? The likes of Big Sam, Pardew and Hodgeson are well in their 60s now. We need new blood. Look what Eddie Howe has done given the chance.

So I say good luck to them. I think Scottish football also needs a successful Rangers as well. That league has become predictable and like the United, Liverpool rivalry Celtic and Rangers spur each other on to get better. I feel Gerrard will do well this season.

    Agree or disagree?

Hope Lamps does well but Slippy can piss off. That miserable wanker should never ever get to taste league glory.

Everyone except slippy, despise him. There's no one I dislike more in football than him.

It's just something that we adapt to the better.

Just as much as the best media & game commentators - the best people to manage the players are the ones that recently retired.

Look forward to one of our boys after Jose is gone. Going to go with Nicky Butt!

I was actually surprised Carragher never gave it a go. Apparently he used to make pages of notes about Benitez training sessions and study them afterwards.

Maybe Sky should've just sacked him after spit gate and he'd have little option then.

Hargreaves also strikes me as someone who could be good at it given his background playing in Germany.

Dear god. I can see it now...

In the ultimate twist of fate, several years from now, Slippy G gets his first taste of Premier League glory... following in Busby’s foot steps* as manager of MUFC.

*it really is funny that Busby played for City and Liverpool

Don't know when it became the in thing to like your rivals. I don't really care about Lampard but as far as Gerrard goes, I wish him the worst in a footballing sense.

A shame Rio has not shown an interest.

Terry is nailed on to give it a go. He's a United fan, maybe Jose will bring him in to groom as his replacement.
