Could you not be bothered to type “you”?
liek very best xx
Legendary goalscorer. Invincible manager? Get him a statue!
Not very high. Not sure I even consider him a legend to be fair.
Had to check if this was the newbies
No capital letters, using a letter instead of you, no question mark on the actual question, question mark on a statement, no capital on a name.
Bsck to the newbies you go.
Any player who wins you a Champions League in the last minute has legendary status
That’s mental talk.
Why don't you rank him as a legend Mark?
Definite club legend for me. As the sign says. I wouldn’t have ranks though just complete upper tier like Charlton best law Giggs and the another level of club legends.
I wouldnt consider him a legend. That's my personal opinion. Legends I would have in the class of Charlton, Best, Robson, Cantona, Giggs. He is not in that company. That's not to say I dont love the guy. It's just an opinion.
So many clubs wanted him as their main striker but he was so in love with the club he was happy to be the best super sub we ever had and ever will have.
He oozes class and integrity which the likes of Jose wouldn't know anything about.
In saying that he faces an almost impossible task to get top 4 and fans might be miffed in May if we come close but don't quite get there
He's in the level below Best, Charlton, Giggs etc. alongside the likes of Rooney, Rio, Ronaldo etc.
After he wins us the FA Cup and CL at the end of this season, 3rd behind Fergie and King Eric.
Man Utd agreed to sell him to spurs, fee agreed etc. But he didn't want to go, thank goodness. He was terrific down the right after Beckham was sold, his career was cut short by injury, he had made that right side his own. Individually, he doesn't compare to other legends like Giggs, Best, Cantona etc. But he scored so many important goals (Inc THAT one), and contributed so much to our success, and was unique in being we to contribute to the team coming off the bench so often.
We are lucky to have so many players we can call legends, and he's one of them.
I'd have him above all 3 of Rooney, Rio and Ronaldo personally. That's not to say he was a better player of course.
Legends (IMO) are players that contributed an outstanding service and/or longevity to the club and are remembered as such. Ole fits both of those criteria. I’d place him pretty high though probably not top 20 (not a criticism considering the sheer amount of great players that have played for us)
I don’t understand people that don’t think Ole is a legend. Mind you I don’t understand how Ronaldo isn’t considered one either by some fans.
Above William Pruenier, below Eric Cantona.
Even our official website doesnt class him as a legend
Think the term legend is banded about far too often these days. As I said before, good player and very likable person. Happy he is doing well here now.
Somewhere between Sir Bobby and casillero del diablo
That's a list of players with top appearances and the top scorers.
Under the banner of legends. Not for me as likeable as he is, nah
Immediately pulls out the “that’s my opinion” safety card after realizing he can’t backtrack on this scandalous statement. Saying ole is not a legend is like saying your username isn’t @red4ever 79
Read the page name on the browser tab.
Yes? Member of staff and cemented his place in folklore. Not a legend for me. But that's ok, I am sure two people can have different opinions surely. We still have democracy
Did you read the page title?
"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer | Man Utd Legends Profile | Official Manchester United Website"
I can't believe this is even being questioned.
Should he win the FA Cup (or CL) with us, he will be the first who won something as both manager and player, am I right? In that case, he'd there among the greatest for me.
It's written on the stadium ffs
I've always thought of him as more of a cult legend rather than being on the same page as Charlton, Best, Giggs or whoever.
The better he does as our manager, the great his legacy and placing amongst other legends
Obviously nowhere near the David May stratosphere.
Teddy Sheringham also scored in the final (wasnt the winner) granted but his goal was also just as important. I wouldnt class him as a legend either
The legends page is divided. He’s not in top amount of appearances, but go down to goal scoring legends and there you find Ole.
I'd rank him around 6/7 I reckon. His goal in 99 is as iconic and important as they come, and maybe the best moment ever for many of us.
but he might not be done yet
Just out of interest, who would you class as a United legend?
Your top 5 for instance.
Not high all honestly, not because he doesn't deserve it but because we have loads of other legends that will get higher spots.
