That the Arse will win the CL this year, just like the Poor did last year. Crap in the league but still manage to progress in CL.

Now that's Wenger has given up the league, Arse will just concentrate on CL. Which was the club who did poorly in the league last year and doing ok in the CL up to this stage?

there is a huge difference between this arsenal team and the liverpool team that won it.

Liverpool didnt play great footy but they had a spirit & teamwork that refused to be beaten. Arsenal are a team of bottlers, if they went 3-0 down would you honestly think they could comeback to win 4-3? I dont

To be fair, we didnt actually come back to win 4-3...

But i agree that Arsenal are a bit spineless when the shit hits the fan.

It would be a disaster if the Arse win it, but after all the worst-case things happended to us recently. Nothing is impossible! Hope I'm fecking wrong anyway!

Neither were L'Pool. I also think Milan threw the game away when they had a 3-0 lead, got too confident. I think Barcelona will win; as long as Chelsea doesn't.

Our bottling lot showed a bit of bottle to keep a R.Madrid team which was throwing everything at us at bay. Especially when you consider 3 of our first choice back 4 weren't playing.

Given the poster did this post last year in December

Their "weird feeling" had more substance than some may have thought when they first read this post. It was relevant as this week's victory over Real by Arsenal showed.

While I don't exactly want Arsenal to win the Champions League my feelings if they did would be the same as when Liverpool won it: good on them for accomplishing it. You would have to give genuine credit just as I did give to Liverpool - winning the Champions League does require luck but it's also a bloody difficult thing to do.

If you look at how Arsenal stuck to their game plan against Real it's clear they could organise against any team. On a different night Henry would have had Real on the ropes with a goal. As it was the team (including makeshift positioning and some relatively inexperienced players) showed the iron will and concentration necessary to beat a team of Real's class.

I thought Beckham was one of the best players for Real but he just wasn't allowed to really create chances for anybody including himself. The fact he went to right-back shows just how good the Arsenal players responsible for dealing with him were. Sure Ronaldo is a fat pastiche of the player he formerly was but Real were still a genuine threat with all of their class and their experience.

Arsenal could go all the way - I won't be hoping for it but I will give them credit if they do. Especially if they knock over Juventus on the way - now wouldn't that be something. I also wouldn't mind seeing Henry win that trophy.

To win it I think Arsenal will have to show a bit more discipline than they did against Real the other night. I know they didn't conceed but they easily could have if it wasn't for a couple of brilliant saves from Lehman. The Mancs will cry about boring football but sometimes you just have to shut up shop if you want to do well in competitions like this, we did away at Juventus and Stamford Bridge last year and it got us to the final. Arsenal may have to play in a style they aren't used to and defend for their lives, but if it gets them further in the competition it's more than worth it.

They can do it, good luck to them.

To be honest I think Juve will be to good for them as they are a very adaptable side who can defend and attack along with press games very well.
I must admit that Arsene Wenger is becoming quite bearable lately.
    So good luck to em

Well, I think Arsenal will win the league this year.
Wenger will leave them and football as a champion.

Wenger will leave Arsenal as a legendary manager who never won the CHL.
His last season will be very creative though.
    The football today was exceptional.

I remembered exactly this thread after watching them. You know they are good but they have to fix some minore defensive problems and they are more than serious title contenders.
