If De Gea were to leave, which 2 players from Madrid would you want?

Think we’re going to give Dave a massive raise, and Madrid will get Courtois (or someone else a little more attainable) since they’ve got to replace the entirety of the BBC over the next 2-3 years.

Kroos and one of Isco/Asensio, alternatively I'd take Carvajal as well.

This all day long! Forget the haters on here with the usual "too old, always injured" crap. They would bring balance and creativity to the team and a catalyst for future development with the squad.

I don't think we need any of their players as much as we need de gea.

If my grandmother had wheels...she would be a bicycle. And no, my grandma is not a bike, and neither are Madrid doing an exchange of players for DDG.

    20 points a season
Compared to what? Compared to having no GK in goal at all?

It's not like we would have no-one or a complete amateur as our GK in case DDG was no longer here. We'd have someone who is top 5 or, at worst, top 10 in the world rather than DDG who is top 3. The difference between #2 in the world and #5 in the world would NOT cost us 20 points a season, that's just nonsense.

How many games did he rescue us during the two seasons he was player of the year? I lost count of how many world class saves he made. I find it insane how under appreciated De Gea is at times or maybe he's taken for granted? Dunno. Just think people saying he could be easily replaced don't really understand how important he is or the relationship he has with the club and especially his teammates.

There's no way Real would swap two players, but I do think that if De Gea wants to go and decide to sanction it this summer, then we'll get one player in the deal with some money. Kovacic + €60M would be good.

Varane - Our CB problem solved.
    &
Kroos - Carrick replacement, midfield complete.

With these two, our team is complete.

Sure just swap De Gea for their whole team. Except for Ronaldo who's pushing 50.

You do realize that Isco does feature in a 3 man midfield from time to time for Madrid. I think a midfield of Pogba and Isco can definitely work with Matic or Kovacic protecting them.

Kroos, Casemiro. Matic, Pogba. Midfield complete. Fellaini, Herrera, Carrick is done. If not them, then Carvajal and Isco

When Isco plays in a 3 man midfield it is usually a 4-2-3-1 with him in the #10 (I'm sure there are times when they are chasing a game and go more offensive). But normally they play a 4-4-2 diamond with Casemiro holding, Modric and Kroos box to box and Isco again in the #10. I just pulled up 8 random matches from this year that Isco has started and in everyone of those line ups accept one the other 3 midfielders are playing too. He's there for his offense and wouldn't be the right guy to free up Pogba. If anything he would make Pogba have to hang back more. What we need is a proper #8 to come in that will do the box to box work. The guy on Madrid who fits that role is Kroos. Mind you, I would want someone younger. At 28 he isn't old. But I want someone who will be in that position for years to come...

    DDG is priceless.

But if it were inevitable, has to be Kroos and probably Varane.

Just imagine that midfield with Matic Kroos and Pogba

Kroos and Bale surely. Varane has unbelievable athleticism but I think he would get bullied in the Premier League.

i think Varane would do well, and even though we’re not short at CB I’m not comfortable with the personnel. Bailly is good but with lots to prove yet, Smalling and Jones are a lottery, Rojo can be rash and Lindelof needs a leader. Our defence looks great when we play conservatively but we’re incredibly soft centred without midfield protection.

Can't imagine a team like Real losing guys like Kroos, Varane, Bale etc for a goalkeeper.

Why are so many United fans making up dream scenarios about losing one of our few proper world class players?

If that was the contractual arrangement, as in we get to pick any 2 from their side once he signs, I’d pick him and kroos :)

Can we just get them to take out a full front page statement in Marca saying Man Utd are cooler than us and we all have small penesis.
