So how do we regroup and comeback from this failure?

Appoint a young fresh manager like Inzaghi jr. or Di Francesco and play who really deserves. Stop giving credit to who is past it.

    Donnarumma

    Zappacosta Rugani Caldara Spinazzola

Florenzi Jorginho Marchisio (we need experience in this team and i have always rated him)

    El Shaarawy Insigne

    Belotti (Immobile)

It is a shame that most of my mates don't care about football. I will still try to piss them off tomorrow though, and hopefully some of them might get angry.

Nope. I am just an 'annoyer' (and currently leave in Italy, so by default, in sports have to be against them, not that I particularly care, but because it is fun to make people angry when it comes to football).

First appoint a decent manager. They, like dutch, have to rebuild from the scratch. Enough of bonucci, chellini and co.

Btwn how is the roma kid pellegrini? Have heard some good reviews about him.

That's an issue though no? 4 years ago, Italy was very solid through the spine. Gigi, Pirlo, De Rossi, Motta, Balotelli, Cassano. For all the hate Balo gets, he's still talented. Cassano did really well if I remember.

Would it be safe to say Italy has gone down the similar path to Holland and the United States? They just didn't get the mix of players correct and not enough quality, in addition to coaching, failed them.

I don’t think you need a big restructure.

You lost out in a group to Spain which most teams would have done so.

But the failure to score a goal in two games against Sweden is shocking. The manager needs to go for that.

I’m sure England would have struggled in the same situation.

calcio needs to be restarted as a business instead of a circus but 2/3 italians hate the juve model so feck them all, carry on with incompetent clowns and look for alibis every time something goes wrong

We have Donnarumma who looks destined for greatness to replace Buffon

Florenzi if he gets back to 100% might be the best RWB in the world. On the left we've got Spinazzola who looks really good. Behind them there's Conti, Zappacosta, Emerson

At CB we have Rugani, Caldara and Romagnoli, who project as good or better than chiellini/bonucci/barzagli. Plus Bastoni who's still a kid and super-hyped

In midfield we have Jorginho, Diawara(if he follows through on his desire to play for Italy), Verratti, Pellegrini, Barella, Gagliardini, Cristante, Locatelli. Verratti is supposed to be a WC player(and is in the right setup), the rest are either really good or project as really good/great

Problem is attack. We have Insigne, who is great but not WC. Then there's Bernardeschi, who's sort of a question mark, Berardi who's an idiot, Chiesa who looks very interesting, Orsolini who's another question mark, then Belotti, Immobile and behind them atm is Petagna, who is good but can't score. Cutrone's been looking really good so far for milan though, Pellegri is 16 and has 3 goals in A, Kean is highly touted, Pinamonti is highly touted, but these last 3 are still kids

Lads, I don't keep up with Italian football much, but why the issue with Verratti, Bonnuci, Chielleni etc?

Surely your issues are further up the pitch. You lost 1-0 to Sweden.

Ventura is going to be a very vilified figure in Italian football in the coming weeks. The bloody buffoon ignored an entire nation's calls to play Insigne over both the legs and we suffered heavily because we don't have many other creators. Also, his substitutions could have been much better. Take off one of the numbnuts playing CB, since they were begging to be sent off, and switch to a back 4. I'm actually so mad right now that I can't even collect myself enough to finish saying what I wanted to in this post.

    Ventura hands in his resignation

Tavecchio does not. On the one hand, the lack of WC attacking players can't be levelled at him. On the other....he choose Ventura, and he's a buffoon. This is the guy who during the elections made a hilariously racist comment and then followed that up with an equally hilarious mysoginist one

'Why the feck would I come on, we need a win' or something along the lines of that, while he points at Insigne to go on.

I reckon this shows how hard it is to qualify and how well England have done in comparison. As for the I-tal-Ians I reckon theyre suffering a bit like us at producing good attackers and creators.

I base this on the single Italian game I’ve watched in the past year. And therefore I’m spot on.

He's always poor with the NT. And with PSG, he's often injuried or average. Last season Rabiot was better than him in the french league, Fabinho and Seri too and they aren't WC...

He's a fraud but a lot of people think that he's WC because he was good against Chelsea 3 years ago or against Barca ( he was on the pitch when Neymar trashed them ??? )

No, it's really not his fault that neither Ventura nor Conte before him are willing to adapt to the players. Even Xavi would've looked average in his place
