It's been so long, the scorer and captain of the opposition has since signed for us and left because he was to broken down. Anyone who thinks there hasnt been an improvement in the last few years are mental.

6/18 players in that squad are still at the club. One of those six is retiring at the end of the season. Crazy.

Moysiah nearly overturned that Bayern team though. Would have been brilliant.. for years we could say we beat Bayern with Moyes!

Go calmly for a low finish. Go around the keeper and tap it in. Just smash it into a top corner. So many options.

But no, he had to try and chip him.

Rubbish chip skill too (power and angle), and the timing of that chip.. he didn't even look at the keeper.

That chip was so low on power that their defender would have stopped it even if the keeper missed it

Imagine if it had come off....

Is this the game where Evra got an incredible goal? Or was that Madrid in SAF's last season?

Some proper club legends in the lineup, along with some absolute dross.

I think Moyes called balance, the tit.

Rio, Vidic and Giggs are all legends of course, but all of them were long past their best at that point. Jones and Buttner as the fullbacks, Valencia on the wing, 40 year old Giggs on the wing. Welbeck up front. Oof. Rooney was in decline too but 13/14 was probably his last decent season.

That Welbeck finish is made even worse than it looks because apparently the players were told Neuer always stays big for as long as possible so if through one on one never try to lob him, hit it low. So of course he goes through one on one and tries to lob Neuer.

Sad thing is I knew when he was running through that he was going to miss and I expect it wasn't just me.

The miss wasnt as bad as the away leg implosion. At least we still took the lead in this game
