Phil Foden is not good enough to start for City right now.
Sancho as he is playing now would still be on the bench at City.
You're acting like he has an obligation to give youth a playing time when the players he fields every week are already pretty young themselves.

I really don't think City fans have anything to be mad about when they're starting Sane and Sterling every week.

He must be signed. We literally cannot afford the chance to snap up a:

1 - 18 year old with superstar potential
    2 - English
    3 - Doesn't play for a top 6 PL team
4 - In a position we have been mediocre in for nearly a decade.

It's like the fecking stars aligned for this one.

Anyone in the world could come in for him and we would surely be favourites.

Even if it means he's our only signing this summer, Ed needs to spend our whole budget on him if that's what it takes.

Sane isn’t even a first XI player.

Well that would be totally stupid to only sign him considering we need atkeaat 3 or 4 of a CB Cm RB and RW to even attempt to compete.

He’s started Cup games though. None of our supposed mega talents have. Foden doesn’t need to play as often as some of the players you mentioned as he’s not better than those ahead of him. But for a 17/18 year old in and around the first team of one of the big clubs, he gets to play often enough. If Greenwood has featured as often as he had for us, I suspect people will point to us as giving youth a chance. He’s played far more football than Gomes, Chong, Greenwood or Garner - and if he were not a City player, there would be no issue with the amount of minutes he’s getting at his age.

We can sign them in the future, when there's an English 18 year old with world class potential on the market in a position we've been starved, that obviously should be no.1 priority by a long way.

And risk another lack luster season no. If we need to sign him then sign him now and do our business as normal. we can spend 200-300 mil. No excuses.

I’m just saying like, he’s not getting game time against the likes of Burton, Burnley and Swansea in the Fa cup, sandwiched in between league and champions league games, even with city’s injuries.
None of those players you mention are rated as highly as Foden.

I get your point, I’m disputing it, I’ve seen him play in a number of Cup games. It’s easy to say that now, but a year ago when Foden started impressing, many on the caf were predictably saying Gomes was at least as good. Chong and Garner have all been similarly lauded on the caf, and Greenwood is being treated the same here.

Off the top of my head I’d be surprised if Foden hasn’t started up to 10 games for City. If you look at their team you know they don’t need to rush him, and the players he has ahead of him are also better, it’s their strongest area of the squad.

I think he’s being treated very fairly at City, and of all of his England teammates in the WC winning team, I don’t see anyone at a big PL club getting as much time as he is, so I’m just saying he’s probably not the best example. Brewster, Gomes, Foden, CHO are playing a similar amount or less. Only Gibbs-White and Sessegnon are probably getting more PL time, but they are at clubs with far less talented squads. For Manchester City, he’s playing as much as can be fairly expected I think.

How often does he play on the right for Dortmund? Some of the videos have had him playing on the left which is definitely not what we need with Martial.

95 percent of the time I've seen him. He'd upgrade or left or right though.

Sancho would be a good addition but we need a lot more, will the Glazers invest? Extremely doubtful

In a ideal world that'd be perfect, can't see us spending that much though. If Sancho is our only signing this summer we'll have had a very successful one.

No, at least not for a while. He will not score less than Jesse though, and will probably help the other forwards get closer to 20.

Hmm..I feel like we need a goal scorer more than anything right now, I don't think our attack has enough goals in it.

I agree, but I don’t think it works as simply as taking 20 goals out of one team and putting it into another. The attack is a unit, in fact, an entire team effort, and I think the right player could see the others scoring more goals too due to making the attacking unit much better.

Hazard isn’t the greatest goal scorer for instance, but could transform our attack potentially due to him being creative for a start, and requiring two men on him secondly.

If anything tonight shows we need somebody who can dribble in tight spaces and break down a stubborn defence, that’s sancho.

Martial and Rashford work best when they have space. Lingard congests the middle too much when he plays out wider

He starts on the right side. Sometimes they sub on perisic and he goes left. He can play either side which is good.

If our budget this summer is 150m we are never going to catch the top 2.
A CB is required as much as Sancho is imo.

Ed better be prepared to spend big this summer.

This guy is a must have... Our over reliance on counter attacking football will make us predictable. Sancho is much better of an acquistion compared to having Lingard who congests the center midfield. We're lacking creativity and width on the RW.

I'd wait to buy him another season and put my money on another playmaker who can fill right wing for a year and even loan a winger like costa for a year.

This is not a environment he will thrive in just now, could put tremendous pressure on the lad and he won't take us to next levels just yet. We need two additions in the midfield and that's where our money should be focused on this summer.

Think we'll try hard to get him for 90-100m + 20m add-ons but Dortmund will refuse to sell him. We are not going to offer 150m or something, unless he plays like Messi in the remaining games of the season.

We won't though. I mean he will be a great signing but we will be next to no better off innactuain becoming a too club.

We need 3 or 4 starters. Simple as really.

There is always an excuse every summer as to why we don't do enough to even attempt to compete

Fundamentals of the team are unbalanced with scatter gun approach to transfer under 3 different managers. Needed a player like fabinho but Nah we are going to spend on Fred who solves nothing on the pitch. Lack of footballing brain by Woodward has really messed up the club and the squad.

He would be perfect for us in so many ways...
Fast, nimble, tricky, short passes, one twos around the area, puts in great crosses and corners. He's the saviour. The One.

It's not just about money, Sir Alex was great at selling marquee players like Becks or Ruud and rebuilding the squad, admittedly not so wonderful in latter years but he would always know who was coming through from our own youth and other PL teams. I know this might sound contentious but if David De Gea is not signing a new Contract, we should cash in £75-100M, bring back Dean Henderson as our no1 and look to offload Sanchez as well. The Budget then becomes $250-275M and you can go for three truly special players and 1 great squad player who would make a difference like Koulibally, Jason Sancho, Veratti and Tiernay. We could maybe even demand Courtois as part of the De Gea Deal plus £60M.

Dalot, Young, Fosu-Mensah, Shaw, Tierney plus Koulibally, Smalling, Bailly, Lindeloft, Jones, Tuanzebe should be more than enough defensively. Veratti and Sancho adding some much needed stardust further up the pitch with hopefully Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood making the step up finally next season would be the very best window United Fans could hope for, especially if Europa League Football is all that's on offer?

Makes the world of sense. Probably why it won't happen. I do wonder sometimes who our scouts are....

Dalot and Martial should be the model for our signings. Young and potential to be world class. Sancho fits that mould so he should be signed for sure.

key question is, does he want to join Man Utd? The market is player driven. Unless he wants to join there is hardly anything we can do.

This kind of valid question fills me with pessimism.

We have to get Champs League or our attraction diminishes somewhat. There'll always be players who are 'fans,' and they will join regardless but that seems to be the secondary motivation these days. Madrid and Barcelona will never be out of the UCL and neither will Juve. Plastic clubs like PSG and City have bought places with their wealth. So for a player like Sancho who has a number of choices, the club has to tick so many boxes: Stature, ambition, manager/coach,locality,lifestyle etc. We can match quite a few of those with our club but would struggle up against Spain and Italy in terms of climate.

Sancho knows Manchester, is friends with a lot of the England kids but can we show show him that we're a club that's on the up? Much could depend on Ole convincing the lad that this is the place for him.

He's playing for Dortmund right now, not Barca or Madrid. We are a tier above them in the pecking order with both fame / money. He's got friends at the club and and we are from his home country. There's actually more reasons for him to want to join us, than stay at Dortmund.

Knowing City they'll probably sell Mahrez and buy Sancho back

Anyway he's just trolling with that tweet, i'm still confident we've got more than a big chance.
